The following is a list of the regular off-topic users, and a brief description of each. If you would like a name added, please submit it to this thread. If you would like to submit a description, please do so to this thread. Descriptions must be about a different user than yourself, and must be kind, and thoughtful. If someone needs to be removed from the list, mention it, and if that user hasn't posted to Off-Topic in over 6 months they will be removed.
Jubilee(contributed by Edanthehunter) She is fun and hiding in the rb. She once was a big part of wowhead (a nice person to talk to) but took a break and now back kinda.
(contributed by MyTie) Jubilee is currently enrolled in college, and spends much of her time writing papers. In her spare time, she enjoys a number of card games, such as Magic: The Gathering. An overt homosexual, she has, in the past, participated in debates about that, and numerous other topics. She has a very extroverted and light hearted personality. You will find her to be very approachable and have a cool demeanor. However even handed she is, she is also very passionate and uncompromising in her beliefs.
OverZealous (contributed by donnymurph, EluraE, and ElhonnaDS)
OverZealous is a professional swimmer from Sweden's north, who one day hopes to compete in the Olympics (I assume). He has a sarcastic sense of humour which I like. He also looks like Bart Simpson.
OverZealous, or OZ as those of us who are too lazy to type it all out call him, is a Recycle Bin and Off-Topic regular. He does participate in the debates, and tends to be more of a cool-headed debater than a (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻. I know that he likes to write, and is unconcerned enough about protecting his intellectual material that he shares what he writes online.
He has apparently decided that, since he lives in an area that is notorious for frigid weather and waist-high snow that lasts 51 weeks out of the year, it's a good idea to be constantly soaking wet and thus swims competitively. I imagine that he's either constantly sick, or has had his DNA spliced with that of a penguin. He's a brave soul, who perseveres even when the odds (which his mother is betting on) are stacked against him in the...er...pool? Not the same ring as "in the ring", huh? Have you thought about boxing? It's be easier to create a dramatic write-up if you beat the hell out of people to get your cardio in.
Skreeran (contributed by Ryjacork)
One of wowheads founding bronies, currently serving in the Army. A passionate debater who stands by his convictions, and values logic and reason above all else when debating. A colossal poster, women love him, men fear him, and small children look up at him with wide eyed wonder.
Funden (contributed by OverZealous)
Funden, once the High Dictator of Soviet Randomness, now reduced to one of Off-topic's resident
cynics, is a nice guy. And he likes the right things, too. Like Warhammer 40k, which he (more or less) introduced me to when I first came to the forums. If you can't find him in the Bin or somewhere else in Off-topic, he is most likely hanging out in Lore&Roleplaying, where he runs and participates in a multitude of RPs.
Funden isn't a guy that's afraid to participate in debates, or one that's afraid to stand up for his beliefs, religious (especially in a forum where religious people are treated with varying amounts of hostility and/or condescendance) or otherwise, and I feel that makes him a very valuable addition to any discussion, and the forum as a whole.
Patty123471 (contributed by Pyreanor)
British, a brony and recklessly abusive. But wait, there's actually a caring person deep down there, someone who likes RP, J-RPGs, debate, social interaction - and maybe, somewhere, a tiny, carefully hidden core of warmth. Maybe.
ElhonnaDS (contributed by MyTie)
Neither passionate nor neutral, ElhonnaDS participates in off-topic debates with a level head and logical thought process. She isn't afraid to render opinions nor corrections to other people's points. She almost never says anything inflamatory, even when in the most heated debate. She could be described as a peacemaker. She also participates in the other non-debate areas of off-topic, making use of the time to build friendships and alliances.
ChairmanKaga (contributed by MyTie)
A fairly recent addition to Off-topic, most of Kaga's contributions have been to other areas of wowhead. He has an unorthodox view of most debates, but is bold with his opinion. He does excellent follow up work when he makes a point, coming to the defense of his assertions. If he stays, he could make a lasting impression.
asakawa (contributed by MyTie)
One of the two main Off-Topic moderators. Lately, the moderators of off-topic have taken a more 'hands on' approach, more as users than just as judges. Of the two moderators, asakawa is the more liberal one, especially during the debates, and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty with the other users.
Squishalot (contributed by MyTie)
The other of the two main Off-Topic moderators. Squish is the more conservative of the two moderators, and also participates in the debates from time to time. Squish spends more of his time in the other areas of Off-Topic than asakawa does, focusing less on the debates. He also finds a bit of entertainment from the debates when he does participate, having a self proclaimed "devil's advocate" approach.
rankkorr (contributed by ElhonnaDS)
Rankorr bills himself as everyone's favorite Latino- a bold claim, considering that covers an entire continent plus a number of locales in the US. He is so devoted to his video gaming that, despite being from a country where they're hugely expensive and illegal, he goes the distance and braves a legal system set against him to obtain his games. He is supported by his wife, who rescued him with her love (and I think food) when he was in prison. If this were an action movie, he'd be played by Antonio Banderas, and would carry some kind of automatic weapon in a guitar case.
I know he likes MMO's, and is a huge Bioware fan. I believe he works in finance, and I know he wants to move out of his country as soon as he is able. He's friendly, and tends to stay out of the more heated debates (though he does contribute when he feels strongly about something). I fully hope he will be joining my Star Wars guild when he gets the game, and when his computer stops spazzing out.
donnymurph (contributed by Funden and rankkorr)
donnymurph is a pretty cool guy. He's always enthusiastic about helping those who ask, is kind to the users on the forum, though he generally stays out of debates. He always has a funny line or link to toss when the time is right, and can get a laugh out of most people. He's known as a photographer around the forums, with several interesting pictures that he's taken himself, some of which have been stitched into some pretty cool panoramas
Adamsm (contributed by MyTie)
Adamsm is a titan of posters. He has contributed heavily to Off-Topic and many other parts of wowhead. He has more posts than nearly any other user. In the debates he has brash and bold opinions with a matter-of-fact attitude. Seldom swayed by other's opinions, Adamsm has taken an underdog stance from time to time, not afraid to upset others. Although not always popular, he is reliable and consistent.
Ashelia (contributed by MyTie)
Ashelia is the new "boss" of wowhead. Like a boss, Ashelia makes the decisions around wowhead. As Malgayne's replacement, she has taken a more hands off approach to Off-Topic, allowing the other moderators a generous latitude for power. Upon taking up her duties, she didn't contribute large amounts to Off-Topic, instead focusing her work on the other parts of wowhead. Lately, she has begun posting more in Off-Topic, though in short amounts, with little banter. Expect her to show up when you aren't expecting her to show up.
MyTie (contributed by DoctorLore)
MyTie is Off-Topic's
Fidei defensor, a family man with family values, he's a warm-hearted, liberal-seeking ballistic missionary, right-wing, right-handed and moderately bearded, the predicant of politics and monsignor of morals, he's soapboxing in style, he knows what he knows and and you will too. Thick skinned, wide grinned and fast tongued, he's the welcome mat with a baseball bat ready to ignite your thread like the living dead!
DoctorLore (contributed by MyTie)
The good Doctor is very fact based in anything he does. More often than not, DoctorLore would rather quote a scientific study, or a block of data, than speak from a philosophical or moral perspective. If DoctorLore were truly a doctor, his PhD would be in listening. He is always more interested in the debate opponent's perspective than he is in his own perspective. However, none of this should be taken to mean he is a pushover. When he takes a stand, his logic is uncanny and nigh impenetrable. If you ever offend him, simply apologize and give him some space, because he doesn't hold a grudge. Loved by his friends, and esteemed by his opponents, the doctor is a longtime fixture to Off-Topic, and will likely continue to be so.
Interest (contributed by MyTie)
Interest is THE postmaster. His more than 68 thousand contributions (and counting) to wowhead (many many of them in Off-Topic) have made him not only a user, but a part of wowhead itself. No one has, nor likely will ever, match his posts. Interest has also distinguished himself by funding Wowhead's unofficial vent server from his own pocket. Educated in computer script, and versed in video games, Interest is the "go to guy" for computer problems. Interest prides himself in remaining neutral. Prying an opinion out of him is no easy task. Interest is the foundation of wowhead's user base.
Pezz (contributed by Sinespe)
Lol. Pezz.
Sinespe (contributed by ElhonnaDS)
Sinespe is our resident closet romantic, draped in a trench coat of cynicism and Britishness (kind of David Tennant-ish). His search for love has left him with a quick wit and a sharp tongue, which he turns on his opponents without hesitation. However, he's also a staunch defender of his friends, and of people in general when he thinks they're in the right, and I think all his sarcasm is secretly just to hide that he's a big softy (he does, after all, work for a charity). He also had an unfortunate incident with an eyepatch earlier this year which, if marketed correctly, could be his in on the internet dating scene.
hatman555 (contributed by Orranis)
hatman555 is a newly appointed mod, and a lovely friend to the forums. He is 6'3, a hat, a lover of hats, and unfortunately a Paladin. Despite this flaw he, though sparse in posting, has never showed anything but friendliness, and is always eager and more than often capable of giving helpful tips and lessons, and his promotion to Moderator status has done nothing to hinder this. In short, I for one, welcome our new hatman overlord.
EluraE (contributed by ElhonnaDS and donnymurph)
EluraE is straightforward and direct to a fault, and I am certain when I read something she writes, that I'm reading her honest opinion. She doesn't always decide to commend on the goings on of the Bin, but when she does, she doesn't mince words. I feel that she has a very strong sense of self, and very little concern for the opinions and criticisms of others. She does not let conformity interfere with her expressions and thoughts, and so often her perspective and ideas are unique. She is the long lost sister of donnymurph.
Also, she really, really, really hates bugs.
EnigmaPunch (contributed by donnymurph)
EnigmaPunch is part of Off-Topic’s strong Aussie contingent. Generally pretty quiet around the forums, he is vocally passionate about his local rugby league team, the Newcastle Knights.
Thror (contributed by donnymurph)
Thror is the world’s most awesome Slovakian. He works as a graphic designer in a university, loves RPGs (role-playing games, not rocket launchers) and alternative fashion. He generally avoids the debates on Wowhead as he dislikes semantics. He has a fantastic, sardonic sense of humour, is highly educated, level-headed and tolerant.
gamerunknown (contributed by Boronidze)
Well-educated and knowledgeable guy, who can see though established social norms. He enjoys arguing the point of greater freedom and against people in power. While he knows a lot, he tries to be not arrogant about our ignorance of some stuff, but usually links it so we can discuss it (usually Chomsky), but in general, he prefers personal freedom over anything else.
Boronidze (contributed by gamerunknown)
Boronidze is a lucky individual hailing from Uzbekistan and studying at a prestigious university in the US. This fusion allows him to contrast traditional values with his own analysis of modern culture where he sees fit. Enjoys playing Skyrim and Team Fortress 2 from what I can recall.
Pikeyboy (contributed by ElhonnaDS)
Pikeyboy lives in the UK, and has a mindset that is wholly unique in my circle of acquaintances, both IRL and online. He's extremely connected to the land, and nature, and is a staunch supporter of animal rights, human rights and environmental protection. He seems to have a great deal of knowledge and experience in actually living off the land, in terms of hunting small game, gardening and knowing what edible plants grow naturally.
What strikes me about Pikey, is that he seems to have a sense of community and obligation to other people that is almost entirely absent in this day where most people don't even know their next door neighbors. He has said that if anyone came to his door with nothing, he'd let them in, feed them and make sure they had bus fare home, which is much more than most people can say. It seems that his stance on larger issues is just an extension of this idea that we all have a responsibility to make sure that our neighbors and community is provided for. We may not always agree on what will work, and what measures should be taken, when it comes to economic and social issues, but I'm pretty sure that he is a better and much more unselfish person than I will ever be.
Azazel (contributed by ElhonnaDS)
Azazel likes to shock us into laughing. Very few topics are taboo for him, and he seems to enjoy riling up the Recycle Bin with his off-color comments. For a time, the jokes were about goats and pedobear, but now that those have lost their edge he's moved on to other genres. For all he likes to play the jester, however, he is still a real part of the community and will get into heated debate just like the rest of us when a topic comes up that he feels strongly about. He also will stand up for membe
