First game I ever played was Vectorman. I used to love going to Toys R Us just to stand at their Sega Genesis and play it.
Recently Steam had old Genesis games for sale at like 80 cents each. I bought it, had a nostalgiagasm, and then realized that I was better at video games at 4 than I am at 20. That kind of annoyed me.

I think one of my first games was probably Duck Hunt and the first Mario. I also remember Zelda 2 very vividly when I was really young--I always felt like the towns were alive, the random encounters exhilarating. There was some massive disappointment to be had when I realized it was not deep or anything when I revisited it.

Probably something on the NES, but the earliest game I have distinct memories playing is either Super Mario World or A Link to the Past for SNES.

heh, 50 Bucks that the games i'm about to mention NOBODY else has played.
My first videogame was "Digger" and "
Sokoban

back when PCs didn't even had windows, nor mouse, and color monitors didn't existed :P
first color game was
Bio Menace
and
Cosmos
First 3d game was of course the original Castle Wolfenstein and later followed by Doom.

Duck Hunt or Super Mario Bros.. I can't remember, really.
First games I really got into were the original Pokemon for the Gameboy Color and Zelda: OoT for N64.

I had these two games on 1 cartridge, as my first game. That was high tech.
My first RPG was Crystalis, which is like Zelda, only doesn't suck. If anyone here has never played it, I highly recommend it.

Super Smash Bro's, the original, on my friends big brother's N64.

It was either Super Mario or Mortal Kombat II.
I remember playing MKII a lot more as a kid and actually being able to beat the second fighter ._.;
