But there is still NO GOOD REASON fot the players to get mad about their pay being cut.
That is all I have been saying here.

They provide entertainment
People who draw newspaper comic produce entertainment and don't get paid what basketball players do.
The demand for newspaper comics is low and the supply is high.

And sorry you are not used to anything outside a family friendly board, I'll make sure I keep the bad words out next time for your fragile ea...erm...eyes.
You want to have a discussion? Construct a better argument and drop this kind of stuff. I'm not going there with you.

Correct me if I'm wrong and you do enjoy watching the NBA, but it sounds like you're just saying this because you don't enjoy watching. No I don't enjoy watching people play basketball. I do enjoy playing basketball. They do produce something of value, otherwise they would not get paid at all. They provide entertainment. And entertainment in America pays big at the top. The top movie producers and stars make bank. Are you going to tell me all of them now contribute nothing to society too? What about video game developers? We can get all philosophical about this if you want, but if you think video games are worthless why do you (or did you) ever pay to play wow?Excellent questions. I would feel that movie producers and game designers deserve more money than NBA players because the effort that goes into a game such as Oblivion, or World of Warcraft, is incredible. A basketball game does require effort, but not to the degree as a computer game. Additionally, the entertainment time gained from a game is quite a bit longer than from watching a basketball game. In the end, I feel that both game designers, movie producers, NBA players, music stars, actors, and most other entertainment producers are grossly overpaid.Truth is, entertainment has value. It makes our lives more enjoyable. It's really unfortunate what's happening in the NBA right now because ultimately it hurts the fans. It hurts what is being contributed by the NBA to society.I'll buy this. I would agree that basketball is entertaining, and that is valuable, but I would also argue that basketball doesn't produce anything, well, beyond entertainment. I would prefer such a huge business and large amounts of money to be put into other industries, that make society great.

The supply of basketball games is also high. Hundred of high schools and colleges.

That's not how it works. Not all basketball players are created equal, so to speak. The demand is for good basketball games, which means good players.

Even good players can produce bad games, just like how bad players can produce good games.

Why is that relevant?

Why is that relevant?
You don't need good players to have good games, so there is no reason for good basketball players to get payed more than bad ones.

So you feel nobody should have any type of entertainment? Wow you seem like such a fun dude to hang out with. May I ask what you do for entertainment? Do you go on the highways and pick up trash? Spend all your time at animal shelters? Help old people?

but what if because of reasons totally out of your control your boss said he wanted to slash your wages 10% at least and you had no recourse? Wouldn't you try to do something? You're telling me you wouldn't be mad?
Yes, I would be mad. But my salary is much less then any NBA players.
Now you're looking at $8-50 million for your career. It's a big difference.
True, but at the end of the day you are still making all that money and have no right to be mad for playing a game and getting rich off it.

Do not care. If I want to throw money at someone for being in shape I'll donate it to the local police or fire department.
Why do people care more about guys that can play basketball/football/whatever than they do about guys who will literally pull their heiny out of a fire has always been beyond me...we idolize all the wrong stuff around here.

Agree so much.
There's people that should be making a lot more than basketball/football//hockey players that aren't.
