Do Dk's still get ridiculed purely for playing their class?

Not really. Just given the statistics of World of Wacraft, I'm fairly sure that the amount of kicks simply due to the idea that the tank is a DK would easily number in the thousands.

The bit I was referring to was
I've been in
thousands of dungs where the tank got kicked just because he was a DK.

Honestly? Since the launch of the class, I think I've met.... 4 dks worth their salt. Or at least there were only 4 that stuck with me enough to keep that number, but now I can't recall 2 of the guys lol.
One was an Undead Blood I met leveling, in Vortex Pinnacle. Did everything he was supposed to and did it well. Even chained a few runs with him, until he hit 85.
Since then I have met a few mute-deepsers that pulled rediculous numbers in heroics, and did everything right.
But really, its still safe to assume, for me, that the dk is an idiot that doesn't know his class / doesn't know mechanics of fights / or just a general jerkoff as a person (ninja log, AMG YOU WIPED AS A PUG!, etc. )

It is scientifically impossible for DK's to be that much different players in comparison with other classes, just like it is impossible that one side wins more in a BG. Ofcourse, there can be a certain link between class/race/faction and the person, but not enough to seriously state that someone's class is any indication of the guy(or girl) behind the computer.

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal.
Gods I wish my net connection didn't suck so badly. I really miss tanking, right now, I can do dailies some days and that is about it. Monopolies for providing high speed internet suck.

Sounds like me. I don't say much in 5-mans unless there are problems.

Mutes piss me off in heroics. :<
Me when nearing first (optional) boss: "All bosses?"
*complete silence. I run straight to final boss*
Previously mute DPS: "wat about other bosses ?"

I am pretty sure Frost mages have taken the title.

but then he isn't mute ._. he actually said something.
That said, I hate mutes as well... If I ask a question, is it really that hard to write a short response? Especially GB is horrible if people ignore tactics. The last 2 bosses are practically impossible if people doesn't follow tactics, yet when I ask pre-fight if everyone understands tactics, and no one says anything, I can be 99 % sure something will go wrong. I've heard the excuse that they only watch the combat log, but things doesn't work like that... Heroics require a certain extend of teamwork, if you can't even be bothered to participate in the bare minimum of communication, you shouldn't be there in the first place... a simple "Yes" or "No" is all it takes >_> Saying something
after
we wiped is a bit too late if you ask me. I hardly ever leave a group unless things look
very
bad, but I always leave if we mess up twice on the same boss, because no one bothered with tactics, even after I have spend time explaining it.
That, and the time where we wiped in HoO to the WATER WARDEN (of all things), because no one bothered to fire a shot or two at the bubbles. If that's too much for you, forget about heroics, you shouldn't even be doing normal dungeons >_>

So youre saying that people should forego a second dps trinket or an extra aoe silence because you dont like the races?

It's not the class or the race, it's the fact that people do not accept why they are playing it. Blood elf DK players will always say stuff like
Zephirotdkelf
: I'm playing BE for the awesomesauce racial, I gots silence and can use to replenish RP for a DC.
Decentplayer
: DKs already got 3 forms of interrupt regardless of spec, and Mind Freeze has a short cd of 10s. 15 RP every 2 minutes means an extra Death Coil per boss fight.
Decentplaye
r: Orc can deal more damage/healing with the deathcoils within Bloodfury uptime.
Decentplayer
: You picked elf because you're gay and enjoy the superbly immaculate hair.
Zephirotdkelf is now offline.
Also, DK(any)/ret paladin/DPS warrior. Are the EASIEST classes to gear, there are ridiculous ammounts of plate on Cata Heroics. No I'm serious, OBSCENE ammounts of plate. So you start at 55, get to 85 in lets say 3-4 weeks (average player, not hardcore nerds that quit life to level up). And once you start cata heroics you can gear up to raid in 2 days tops.
Oh and DK voice makes BE sound masculine, which is totally wrong.

The perception is still there, but as far as I'm concerned it is an incorrect one, I think Blood tanking is probably the most difficult tanking spec in the game at the moment (definitely more complicated than pala/warr. can't speak for druids) as they have a huge number of cooldowns to use and do not benefit from passive block like sword and board tanks do but have to put up their own mitigation shield (blood shield).
As far as dps specs go, I think they are in about the same place as all other melee classes in terms of difficulty

Same thing happened to me in HoO a few times in gauntlet. Both times down to just 1 boss left and on pace for achievement. If last boss is water, murphys law will tell you none of the 3 ranged dps are going to bother breaking the bubbles forcing a wipe. And on the fire one it will tell you that 3 morons (2 of them being ranged) will stand in the fire that is around him, seriously how does a ranged even get hit by that?

I'll put in my input to this thread since I keep glancing at it anyway.
DK's don't have as much time before cap to get to know their class as all the other classes, so people who are new to dks aren't as quick witted with their abilities as if they were to start at level 1. That said, I think all the criticism they have gotten really has turned out for the best because they want to prove the mockers wrong. You will still see some people that are moronic and think that all dks suck and that's completely wrong.
I, personally, love to group with dks and especially tanks at that. If they at least know their main abilities, they can do well in instances. While I think it's harder to weed through to find the truly great dks, when I do find one, they are pretty phenomenal. I have yet to find a way to get through the thick-headed people, but I hope they'll be ground to nothing eventually.

Just as comment on people saying "Ive done thousands of dungs today", dung also means something else. Might want to watch your abbreviations.
