Holding spells or skipping priorities
.... This is the number one reason while Tanks which use a "rotation macro"
preform terrible
perform terribly, compare(d) to those who know the abilities they need to use and do it instinctually.

Lol Thanks Woodrun,
Hows the tanking going?

Ran End of Time last night, planning on running the other two tonight and see what upgrades I can pickup.
It was nice to hear "Good tanking" from the Healer.
I have a question for you Hat (and other tanks), at what point do you start stacking mastery? I thought I had read that once I get to about 13% (roughly) dodge and parry, then start stacking/reforging for mastery.
Well I ran this toon through MrRobot and did the suggested changes (except for a few enchants) and my overall avoidance went from just over 80% on my in-game character sheet to almost 88%.

A better question is when to stop stacking mastery. It's the first stat you should start stacking. Your dodge and parry hit DR levels even without stacking them.
Mastery > all until around the block cap (trinkets/procs aside).

The Self Help Protection Guide -->
Stats and Gear
--> Scroll down to Mastery --> Read Tip:
Mastery does not suffer from DR like Dodge and Parry do. Block is % based now instead of value. This means that Mastery will be more damage reduction over all than parry and dodge at a certain point.
Mastery increases its damage reduction once you have around 12% dodge and parry.
12% of each is pretty easy to reach in ful 346 gear. So as soon as you hit 85, and your running normal's and heroics you should be socketing for the mastery > avoidance combo.
As for when to stop: dslg604t is right. When you get to 102.4% you want to start to switch some of the mastery out for dodge and parry. Try and always keep yourself at the 102.4% but your % total complete avoidance will increase, which is what you want.
Ok, super long day today, passing out, night all

Not until January
I need some time to visit some people, raid the new content, and play starwars. I'll have lots of free time until the end of January, but not much before then.

Don't worry.
Hat calls it a guild and he has enough authority we listen to him.

Running joke from earlier in the thread. Hat has trouble with Guild/Guide/Guile
*crys* It will never change I'll be in real trouble if i ever make a guide about guilds! ...or a guild about guides? >_<

Must be a Dave thing..as I am a Dave as well and can testify to screwing up those words more than once.

is a PvP talent, and picking
for increase in Judgement damage (You are not using Hammer of Wrath, you are using Holy Wrath only THAT often, and threat is so much NOT an issue, that I'm switching my hotbar to #2 on single-target bosses only to have my ears a break from
Hammer of the Righteous
swings) is a waste of talent points.

I don't know where this is coming from, but I just want to say the following:
and
ARE MANDATORY TANKING TALENTS!
works on all PVE targets including raid bosses
is your biggest source of DPS and Threat.
I know people like to make up there own specs, but if you don't take these talents you are doing yourself a huge disservice.

You didn't read my post? Else I don't see how can you say "I don't know, where this coming from". I've explained it right there.
works on everything? Fine. The problem is that it only decrease boss melee DPS by ~16.7%, and not changing much othervise. There's VERY few bosses that use ranged attacks, most of bosses use melee+skills+spells, and judging from description, this effect does not apply to spells or skills. I would trust the talent description, unless you have a solid proof that my assumption is wrong. The added bonus of SoJ duration effect valuable in PvP and in VERY few PvE encounters. You can pick this talent as filler, but, between WoG talents and this, I'd prefer
/
.
- I've explained already. It MAY come handy, when paired with
for single-target pickup, but othervise it is not making any significant difference.
OTOH, lack of
Pursuit of Justice
in most of your builds reducing your mobility to the one of a... tank. It's not mandatory talent, but I see it's absence as not very wise choice. Between Improved Judgement and Pursuit of Justice, PoJ coming up as more universal choice of a talent, IMO. Which in turn reducing worth of WotL, as explained above.

This already makes it stronger than your suggested GbtL/EG.

I don't understand this. Improved Judgement and PoJ aren't conflicting in terms of talent point distribution. You NEED Improved Judgement to get to PoJ.

1.)
You need an attack speed slow. If you're just raiding, and you have another class that will apply it 100% of the time, then you can spec out of it. As a tank, a person who will be attacking most targets, even if other classes won't it makes the most sense for you to bring the debuff yourself.
2.)
increases the damage of your Crusader strike by 100%. This is what makes the talent so powerful. The judgement damage and crit strike from your other spells are a bonus, but a 100% increase damage on the attack you are using every 3 seconds, its better for damage and threat than any other talent in the tree.
3.)
does not refresh the CD on WoG, which means that you'll only be using that extra HP for extra damage. Not worth the talent points when compared to other talents in the tree.
4.)
Pursuit of Justice
is a nice talent, I've never said its not. It is however optional.
Lavawalker
increases your speed to 8% which is the same as the first talent point. And
Windwalk
increases this to 15% at a 50% up time. If there are fights which require a 100% up time on speed, then you would obviously respec, but I have yet to have a problem with such.
So recap, when I say "I don't know where this is coming from" I really mean that. I've read your posts, and they mostly ignore parts of talents or provide justifications that don't make sense. You don't think decreasing a bosses DPS in any form is useful? You would rather pick a damage talent over a damage reduction talent?

Hat
