Thank you so very much for jumping in on this asakawa!
I have always used the Felguard, since I only solo and dont participate in raids or PVP.
My issue is he takes huge damage, much more than he used too. I have to heal him often and more than one hit to keep him alive. I do use his felstorm skill, even on two mobs. He has 40K HP and is quickly dropped to 20K by the end of the battle. Something is wrong, or they seriously nerfed him or changed buffs in a way they are no longer as effective. I thought perhaps it was my build, since I have been fooling around with it. My concern is not how fast I kill, but that I kill and stay alive.. ;) My alt died 4 times in 2 hours yesterday in Deepholm. I was being VERY careful, but my buddy couldnt take the heat AND my healing didnt save his bottom.
I used to farm Deepholm, with my alliance warlock, for embersilk cloth. Sent in the Felguard, did his skill (I think he had different skill) then did my AoEs.. Now we die, a lot! That was soon after Cata was released.
So, I was wondering if there is any way, I can beef him up or his heals to have better survivability?
I sincerely appreciate your feedback asakawa..
Peace.. Lynlee

Ah apologies, for some reason when I read your first post I saw Felhunter despite you clearly writing Felguard >.<
I am pretty mystified since the Felguard should be able to take more hits than that (he certainly didn't feel particularly fragile when I levelled and there've been no big changes to survivability since then.
Fel Synergy can really add up so perhaps if you do as much damage as you can you can get more passive healing going through that talent and it may be worth picking up Demonic Embrace since the extra Stamina gets passed to your pets too.

Ok asakawa! Perhaps it is my Rotation then. I was trying to put up my DoTs on each he had aggro on (Corruption, BoA, & Immolate), hit Felstorm, then spam Incinerate, also trying to slip in Drain Soul to recover bit o mana at the end of the battle. I have a feeling that rotation may not be what is needed any longer.. I started using Incinerate when I saw DL was not doing well. I lose a lot of health when ONE gets in my face, so I do use DL then. I tried the above rotation, but I usually have to start healing him as soon as my DoTs are on and I've hit Felstorm.. I really dont get a chance to spam incinerate, if more than 2 are hitting him, before the Felguards health is low enough for me to worry.
I was looking for a more recent Leveling guide for Demos. Will continue to search..
I have a feeling this needs to stop here, since it was suppose to be a 'simple quick question'. I thought it was when I posted.
Thanks again for your help and suggestions, especially the Help with the talent tree!
Peace.. Lynlee

You can also use TellMeWhen, though imo Power Auras is easier to get the hang of.

is what I've been using since ICC times, and it has served me well, for every single class. Decimation proccing is just 1 of the things it shows :) And no icon or no other silly thing that you need to decipher what it means, just plain text which you can adjust in size etc.

Personally I prefer Icons. It's faster for me than reading something. So yeah, pick something that works best for you.

Well either convince him to go Demo and be the tank and the dps, while you roll a healer of some form, or you could tank for him, while he just hits stuff. Or my favorite idea, roll a dk. Tank and healer all in one :P

Shaman.
Probably best partner should you two choose to PVP together (if you go restoration) and a versatile class in general. If you think about levelling solely then I would say mage / lock, but you aren't looking to level another mage :)

Is around 10k dps bad for someone who hasn't touched his lock in awhile, missing some gems and enchants, and has a ilevel of 354?
Just want to know if I need to reroll or not, thank you in advance.

Also consider doing dailys, the molten front ones take me less than 45 mins but I make well over 400 gold just from them alone. If you cap out on dailys every day you can be in excess of 1k gold for only about 2 hours work.

I have done all of my Molten Front Dailies (keep in mind I only have the Druids of the Talons unlocked) and i am not capping out on my dailies, is there a area I am missing, or do I just need to wait and unlock more?

Even with the entire Molten Front unlocked you won't have enough dailies to cap from there alone; that was surely just an example of how much daily quests pay in gold. You would have to rely on other regions, in addition to the Molten Front, to cap your dailies; for example, Tol Barad (between the two islands) has about another 13, Therazane faction another 6 or 7. Those together probably comes to 25 dailies, even having only the Druids of the Talon unlocked at the Front.
