Are they only choosing from the haikus sent in from each day, or are they picking from all days?
i.e. are the old haikus gone or do they still have a chance to get in?

I'm gonna agree with some others that 1 isn't much of a haiku. They're really supposed to flow. Breaking a 17 syllable sentance up into 5-7-5 is a pretty weak attempt, IMO.
And 11 isn't a haiku.
"Oh hello, Goldshire"
Oh - He - llo - Gold - Shi - re.
It's 6-7-5.
Actually, Shire is only one syllable.

I ain't no teacher, but by spelling, Shire is a single syllable... right?
EDIT: Someone beat me to it...

I have to agree with the general consensus that these are much better than yesterdays entries. However I don't see how separating a 17-syllable sentence with lines makes it a Haiku. Would be nice to see some more that follow the general description of a Haiku closer tomorrow.

Read the rules of the contest people. They only care about the syllables and format.
About how the pick them: I think they print them all out and pastes them on a dartboard and blindfolded throw darts at them.
How do you think they pick them?
To the contestants: Good luck and damm you because one of mine isn't there

For Thrall's sake "SHIRE" is ONE syllable, read a dictionary before posting about the syllable count.

I agree with the others here, these haiku's are much better then the ones shown yesterday! ^^
Shame neither one of my haiku's has been picked so far, though...
Anywho, I'm voting on Hogger. Should be quite self-explanatory, if you ask me! :-P
