This doesn't make sense... We've seen Sylvanas lament her current state, with the return of her locket. Her comments suggest she and her people do not like being undead, but will fight to stay "alive." So why this? Why turn her character into a being who wants to spread undeath? She hated it when the Lich King did it to her.
And yes, I believe she is a reasonable character. Meaning she isn't insane, and hasn't shown signs that she was. There had better be a damn good explanation for this, otherwise they really ARE trying to turn the Horde into the villain faction again.
Not the entire Horde, just the Forsaken... as Garrosh isn't happy with the other crap the Lich Queen is pulling.

Well, we've already had the belfs capturing and torturing a Light-based being, siphoning off its powers to be paladins. Then we have the orcs going more and more on the offensive, and Sylvanas now becoming more and more like the Lich King. Only the trolls and tauren seem to be escaping unscathed.
And it really kind of disappoints me, as the Forsaken were a fun, you-can-sorta-sympathize-with-them faction. Some were definitely evil, but many others weren't, and that gave them an interesting flavor.
However, now I can see a lot of forsaken turning on their beloved queen. From what I remember, a bunch of them hate their curse. Would they stand for her spreading it?
I see Our Beloved Lich being ousted once again, but this time no one will help her reclaim her throne.

They still have their own flavor, but Horde races are becoming more isolationist from each other, which is more believable than what the Alliance has going on.
Undead have always been great for those who want to be Undead... trust me, very few must have thought it was not cool to see Putricide shout "Death to the Scourge! And death to the living!". Even when being on the receiving end of a backstab, what an Undead player is attracted the most is the viciousness.
Its pretty hard to make the Undead look evil when they are selfish and amoral.

The Forsaken were in war against the Scourge, the Alliance and the Scarlet Crusade for 3-4 years (each expansion counts as an year). After that, their number should have diminished a lot. They need more soldiers and there aren't much more corpses left behind by Arthas in Lordaeron (this is where the new Forsaken players come from). So, the explanation that they don't reproduce match.
In this quest chain particularly, the raised corpses are from Alliance larbores, that would be killed anyway. Sylvanas just raised and added to the Forsaken numbers.

what do you mean "what the alliance has going on"?
a small revolt lead by the daughter of a traitor(albeit a justified one as there was no one uncorrupt that would hear his claims).
almost civil war between the 3 dwarven houses, and the loss of a king.
orcs invading and the return of there true leader.
begining to reclaim there homes from radiation and mutants.
nothing new(as always).
you know the worgen.
The Alliance factions are buddies between themselves. The Horde are distrustful and secretive from one another. I like the two approaches... the first one seeming more common in fantasy and the second one a more realistic situation. Both have their place in WoW and cater to the appeal of each faction.

Aye, Koltira is a Blood Elf Death Knight, not a Forsaken one; if they swore fealty, it would be to their own faction leaders, not to insane undead elf corpses.Someone on another forum was saying that Koltira asked for it for committing "high treason."
I suggested they enlighten me as to when, exactly, Koltira betrayed the Ebon Blade; and since when was Sylvanas in charge of said order anyway?

Heh aye, I really don't get that part where she can met out punishment to someone not of her faction or even her race.... unless she wants to fight against the Blade, as Thrassian wouldn't be happy to find out his sword brother was being tortured at the hands of a mad woman.

In Cata, the Trolls aren't liked because Vol'jin doesn't like Garrosh. The trolls and orcs (and the tauren) have been buddies for years. Garrosh shows up and gets the reins handed to him under unknown circumstances (i.e. because he's a Wesley); Vol'jin gets mad. I don't think bad blood between Vol'jin (a known quantity) and Hecksqueak (still something of an
un
known one, although he's got his admirers) is going to automatically ruin things between said races.
Not really. The dwarves, gnomes, nelves, and draenei are buddies. The humans only reluctantly tolerate them. See discussion about how the Scarlet Crusade/Onslaught is composed of "normal" humans and the Argent Dawn/Crusade are composed of crazy liberal race-traitors.You know the Scarlet Crusade are considered
more
of an aberrant faction than the Argents...right?

I've almost got to wonder if she hasn't completely lost it and decided that
all
free-willed undead should be subject to her. (Screwily contradictory on several levels as that would be...)

I don't know whether I love it or hate it.
It makes sense, and gives her a bit more (albeit unoriginal) character. I like that she's getting attention paid to her, as this as technically how she's always been, she was just never in the spotlight.
Although someone did bring up a good point when they mentioned that Koltira does seem humble towards her. Perhaps he's always been under her, it just occurred behind the scenes that becomes fleshed out with this quest chain?

Heh, it is Blizzard, but I'm hoping we'll see more of her descent into madness and how and why she's acting like the Lich Queen(well, at least for those who like her, to me this is just more proof that the way I've felt about Sylvanas from the beginning was true).

Koltira and Thassarian are parts of the Horde and the Alliance now rather than the Ebon Blade. At least they say so during the quest if I recall correctly... Either way Koltira's ingame faction is The Undercity now. Not sure how it happened. :S

I think that Koltira saw himself more similar to the Forsaken than to the Blood elves. He calls Sylvanas majesty so I think that he swore his loyalty to Sylvanas, rather that to Lor'themar. In a way, he is a Forsaken Death Knight instead of a Blood Elf Death Knight.
