I've had many a conversation on this subject and was surprised to learn that people don't consider WoW to be one of their Top 5 all-time gaming experiences despite having committed so much of their life to the game...
For me, my Top 5 would be:
1.) World of Warcraft
2.) Earthbound
3.) Magic: The Gathering
4.) Duke Nukem 3D
5.) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Of course, my list of enjoyable gaming experiences could go well beyond 5, but the Top 5 would be the ones that have influenced you the absolute most and may have even defined you as a person.
So, is WoW in your Top 5? Why or why not?
The reason I consider it my #1 is because of the volume of character they established in the franchise. Its a game like Earthbound in that it tells a unique and imaginative story without taking itself overly seriously. It takes you on grand adventures to highly detailed environments that rivals those I first experienced in Zelda's: Ocarina of Time, but on a MUCH larger scale. It offers the same competitive atmosphere that I enjoy with Magic: The Gathering, and is a game that is always evolving.

Some of these are hard to order:
Quarantine - It was one of the first games I owned and my brother and I fought over the computer to play it.
Fallout II - If Quarantine didn't put such an impression on me this would easily be #1.
WoW - I've probably put more hours into this game in a year and a half than any other game, probably most combined.
Final Fantasy (3 and 7) - I played most, if not all, up to 11, but those two were the best.
Diablo (I and II) - My brother still plays this because he won't pay $15/month.
Runner ups:
Counter-Strike
Quake III
Civilization (played 1-4, but mostly 2 and 3)
Rainbow Six
Starcraft

1. Sonic the Hedgehog 2
This was the first game I ever owned and damn did I play it. It will always be #1. I'll always remember the click and grind of that cartridge, the "SEGA" intro, the title screen music and Emerald Hill Zone.
2. Pokemon Red
Laugh if you will but Missingno. is to blame for my interest in programming. Understanding how that glitch came about was my light-bulb moment. After I understood the genius of the game mechanics within that game I will forever have respect for the men and women that wrote it. Then what, like eight, then years after it's release someone finds the Mew glitch, still amazed.
3. Goldeneye 007
C'mon, do I really have to explain it? The first time I ever got drunk my friends and I split for a case and played it until four in the morning. We would go to my place at lunch and then just not go back to school for the rest of the day. Anyone who picks Oddjob get's a RL beat-down with the three other controllers and screen watching IS a strategy!
4. Starcraft
I was never any good at it because I was stupid enough to play Zerg and there's no way in hell I could micro that many units on a Pentium II, but I think I've spent more time playing Starcraft than any other game. Period.
5. Craaazzzyy Taxi!
Choose your driver.
Ya! Were gonna have some fun!
<engine revs>
Hey, hey, hey! It's time to make some Craaazzzyy money!
Are ya ready?
HERE WE GO!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Day after day
Your home life's a wreck
The powers that be just breathe down your neck
You get no respect
You get no relief
You gotta speak up and yell out your piece
So back off your rules
Back off your jive
Cause I'm sick of not living
To stay alive
Leave me alone
I'm not asking a lot
Just don't want to be controlled
It's all I want
It's all I want
It's all I want
It's all I want!
Shut up and move you're butt!
Wow, I didn't expect to get here so fast!
Just doin' my job.
Time's up!
Class "S" Licence!

Wow has been good but nowhere near the top 5.
In no order
Ultima Online
Quake
FF6 (3US)
Chrono Trigger
Warcraft 2
I could embellish further on each one, but no MMO has been anywhere close to UO for me, no FPS has been anywhere close to Quake for me, no RTS has been anywhere close to War2 for me.
Quarantine - It was one of the first games I owned and my brother and I fought over the computer to play it.
Haha nice. Classic pick.

No particular order (and really hard to narrow down to 5)
Psychonauts
Super Mario Bros 3
Fallout 2
Dragon Warrior 1-4 (5 is actually better overall, but doesn't have the same nostalgia as it was only released in the US recently)
Legend of Zelda (Tie between Majora's Mask and Wind Waker)
Bonus: SSX 3 (Whole SSX Series is great, but this one is the pinnacle)
