In your opinion; best show on television for me is the longest running drama; Law & Order, nothing that's on right now is equal to that one.

L&O is a great show, no argument, but it doesnt have the cult angle which appeals to
alot
of people
In your opinionand it holds less weight than yours?
how about this:
losts average ratings are higher than l&o by about 2 million

/shrug, of course not, my opinion doesn't mean any more then yours does; I only watched the first season of Lost for one reason; I wanted to see the Beast. I tried to watch the second one and got bored, and haven't had any desire to watch it since. As for ratings..... meh, crap shows like Dancing with the Stars, American Idol and other things draw in big ratings for some reason, but that could be put down to people are sheep lol.

its apples to oranges anyway
critically acclaimed dramas =/= pop reality TV

i'd also like anyone to give me an unbiased reason why it should have ended years ago
its won alot of awards
its made
alot
of money
its maintained its cult following
its maintained extremely high ratings given the type of show that it is and only has dropped below the top 20 for one season of its run (very, very ,few shows can say that)

/shrug, like I said, ratings don't mean much; lots of crap get's the high ratings while the good stuff is pushed aside. Again though, I don't like Lost, and haven't since it started; it really should have ended a few season ago instead of limping to the ending it's doing right now.

define limping, because like i said its maintained amazing ratings and there was only two "filler" episodes (both of which the creators apologized for and swore to never do again) that had nothing to do with the grand scheme of things
it wasn't drawn out, like most shows are, either. when they were first working on the idea of lost, they had an outline for 8 seasons of material within a few hours. once the ball got rolling and they got a concrete idea of what they were doing (see: season 2) they decided that it would run for 6 seasons, and they remained true to that number, despite network greed and things like the writers strike

/shrug, meh, whatever heh; I stand by my stance, but good on you for watching all the seasons from the beginning... you did watch it from the beginning and your not just a band wagon jumper right?
