Wow, your sense of entitlement is through the roof lol
NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO ANYTHING IN THIS GAME!
Players are entitled to a fair shot at access to content. I'm entitled to call out retarded raid leaders who put up ridiculous expectations for tiers-old content. You're entitled to, apparently, make yourself look like a self-serving twat who probably is one of the retards in /2 going "LFM TOC 10 5700GS MINIMUM".
Which is ironic, because every Skunks I can find in the US Armory that's a ranged DPS class is hilariously badly geared - especially the Hunter.

Looks like you've been denied a raid or two because of your GS huh
I highly, highly doubt that.
My friends have, however - friends that I know to be exceedingly competent players - and they've been denied by idiots much like you, clinging desperately to Gearscore instead of learning how raid leadership works.
Gearscore is just a tool/benchmark.
A very heavily flawed tool, if that. I find calling it a tool is disingenuous, because tools tend to be useful.
Not the tool is flawed, it's the way people use it. Even if it's 90% of all PuG leads, it doesn't make the addon less useful.
The tool is absolutely flawed. If it wasn't flawed, it would give more score for Darkmoon Card: Greatness than Herkuml War Token for Hunters. It wouldn't dock you points for clinging to our exceedingly-powerful 2p T9 bonus. It would knock off points for spellpower gear on Hunters (and DKs, and Ret/Prot Paladins...).
In short: If Gearscore was not flawed, it would work like
Elitist Armory
/
Elitist Group.

I agree.
That includes people being entitled to protection from the title "moron" when misusing the tools available to them (i.e., Gearscore) to build their raids. ;)
I personally agree with you; if you don't like the requirement, then don't join the raid. I
don't
rarely pug for that exact reason.
But the lack of entitlement runs both ways; I'm not entitled to their raids, and they're not entitled to freedom from me calling them idiots for asking for a 5k GS for Deadmines run - or, as a more serious example (and something that I've seen on my server), a 5.5k GS requirement for downing Patchwerk for the weekly raid quest, or being told I'm not qualified for a ToC run despite being 8/12 in ICC 10.

So just because you have the appropriate gear for said instance, then you should be able to join whoever's raid you please huh?
Assuming the person isn't an #$%^&*! and is a competent player? Yeah, assuming it doesn't harm the composition of the game.
Your logic and way of thinking is severely flawed and you need to get the dose of reality that the game is bigger than you and your friends.
As opposed to yours, which could basically be summed up as "#$%^ YOU GOT MINE"?

Previous PuG Leader Experience (Naxx-25 Level): Armory and /inspect were your friends. You could tell that Hunter was gemming for STR and say, "Nope, come back when you learn how to gem."
Current PuG Leader Speculation: GS
can
be your friend. If I were use it as a metric, I would set a minimum GS I would accept for the raid (maybe 100-200 points above the recommended level) then at 200-300 more points in my asking. I would still subject everyone to an inspection via /gs to see if they know how to gear their characters.
In both situations, they only ruler you have for their competence (since you've likely never run with them before) is how they are geared. Bad PuG leaders only want the single number. Good PuG leaders will use GS in addition to the methods used earlier, and there were still people denied raid slots because of inadequate gear (read: not overgeared).

I'm finished with you, you have nothing to say anymore
*standing ovation for Pikachui*
Actually, both of you spent out at least a page ago. :P Since that time you've simply provided a handy source for toasting marshmallows.
Mmm, s'mores...

And funny Armory joke too, if you want to Armory bash me, my actual toon is Pikachui on Ner'Zhul, so please find another way to try and be funny
A terrible Hunter with two terrible talent builds, in PVP gear dual-wielding without a weapon chain, and who's 11/12 Normal ICC 25.
My point stands.

If you dont like GS your best bet is to find a good guild and only run with them because it will alway's be around.
Yo dawg, your apostrophes are migrating.
