Rapid Durability Loss

I am fresh 80 rogue who is just running random heroics and ICC instances so far. Recently I noticed that my daggers get broken very quickly.
It took my daggers to turn yellow about 3-4 instance runs. I didn't die during these runs for sure ( running with my friends, good gear, well skilled group so wipes or occasional deaths don't take place)
I am using Mutilate spec, with instant/deadly poison. I also noticed that Instant poison is top damage source in my recount. My weapon speed with slice and dice and after haste is 1.06 and 0.76.
I don't use Fan of Knives often, only if there are 4+ targets.
I was wondering what does use up all the durability so quickly and if there is anyway around it?

Hitting things a lot. You go around it by not hitting things that much.

Welcome to being a rogue. Repair after every instance, repair at every chance and if possible after every boss fight in raiding assuming the chance presents it's self. We are squishy, our gear isn't much better and since we are required to get toe to toe, we take a beating.

well, the thing is, i kinda thought that the more often i hit the better cause of poisons procs and focused attacks (on crits of course). but atm, its constant 10-15g every 2nd instance :S

I am certain that players don't take durability damage by being killed by other players, then why the hell do I pay a 70G repair at its best after doing BGs for 5-6 hours.
The odd death from an NPC from AV and pure weapon durability lose could account for that.

Dunno if it honestly should be that high. While doing ICC, my repair bill usually hovers around 15g by festergut if no wipes. Heroics, 2-3g per run at the most.
Also, kidB was kidding.

No, I wasn't. Weapons suffer durability loss when you hit stuff. The faster you attack the faster they break down. I'm dual-wielding 1.4s, I'm in a worse pickle than the OP.

My main being a Holy/Ret Paladin I assumed repair bill will be at least halved when I play my Rogue. But noooo, even compared to my Holy Paladin the repair bill difference is not noticeable enough. (that goes same with clothies)
But I agree with
greyghost
I don't think your (OP) repair bill should be that high for running 2 instances.

I think he meant,

part. I could be wrong though :P
Yep. Unless KidB really wants to advice him to pick slower weapons just so he wont have to pay a high repair bill :P
