Rapture
Read the fine print. It's the same size as the rest of the print. :-)

When your shield is completely absorbed or dispelled.
No more than once every 12 seconds.
Doesn't matter if you apply the shield before the previous shield has been absorbed, you'll only get the mana once the shield has been destroyed.

I think he meant that if the target still has a PW:S on him after 20 sec, and you recast the PWS onto the target.......
The short answer is yes, if your NEW shield then pops you will gain the rapture effect
longer answer: (^above^) as long as you did not have another PWS that you cast pop in the last 12 sec.
I could see how some confusion could insue, It could be that when you replace the PWS on a target you are "poping" the old shield. This is NOT the case. You are instead refreshing the timer, reapplying WS, and adjusting the shield amount according to modifiers and SP. Note it is a replacement effect on the shield amount, not additive like DA procs (though that would be SWEET, seriously, start rolling PWS on a single group, keep recasting as soon as the weakend soul falls off, get HUGE pws accumulated on the targets and then go into combat...)

and just to head off the question , no you can not dispell your own spell :P

UNLESS something has changed in the last year, overwriting a shield with another shield IS a dispel (of sorts).
The rapture effect is triggered by full absorption, dispel, time out or even right clicking off the buff.
A wowhead poster just tested this and found that the rapture effect was not proc'd upon expiration or removing the buff, so it has changed since it was last tested.

I didnt wanna mention it in the other thread...but I am going to have to check that ignayshus, the tool tip wouldnt suggest that it "expiring" due to time will regain the mana. Also I dont think the game considers "right clicking on the buff" as a dispell of the buff, because then technically every class can dispell. If the tooltip instead read:
"if for any reason the PWS leaves the target it will gain....and you will gain..."
then sure, but it
reads
.

Like I said, "unless something has changed in the last year", because the last time this was tested it was shown to do exactly what I posted.

Just tested letting it run out, and right-clicking it off. No Rapture. And yes, I have 3/3 Rapture.

Bummer and thanks for testing this.

Maybe I'm just speaking for myself here, but I thought we had all tested out Rapture on the first day we were disc and realized that letting a shield run out, overlapping shields, or right-clicking the buff off doesn't give you mana back? Rapture's tooltip clearly states how you get the mana returns. I don't see how this is still an issue.

Don't be snotty.
The last time I tested it was on the ptr (some of us actually do that) and the only news I'd ever heard about bug fixes or mechanics changing was that the rapture bug was an unintended bug that bliz didn't care to fix.

If the last time you'd experimented with Rapture was over a year ago on the PTR, you shouldn't be talking about it's bugged test mechanics as if they were on the live realms. It's only going to lead to confusion. I wouldn't go into the death knight forums and give tips on dual-wield frost spec, because I haven't played a DK in over a year either. If my writing tone came across as snotty, forgive me.

When's the last time you tested the way Blessed Recovery works? How about Lightwell?
You don't retest everything every patch... at least I don't. When changes are noted I test it to see how it works and if they publish additional changes I test those too.
Since the PTR (when the 12 second cd was added) there's been no corrections mentioned regarding shield (only that a specific bug is known and not going to be fixed), and at that time rapture worked the way I stated, so it makes sense for me to assume nothing had changed.
When another poster said, they had just tested it and found that to be untrue, I thanked them for their help and amended my post.
What else would you have me do or should nobody post anything until they've fact checked everything every time?
