Ya.

Actually, no. The damage boost buff is put on the target, you can't cancel that one. You get the threat redirection one.

Yeah, I suck at reading today. I'm not sure a simple macro can differentiate spells by spell ID, but a script might. Try our friends at the UI forum.

If i remember correctly, you can see your buff on the person, but they cannot. I constantly have rogues trickin me all the time and I do not recall seeing their buff on me, but when I cast it, I can see the damage increase on them.
This. Doesn't mean there isn't, but I've personally never seen someone else's buff on me that I can remember.

After a bit of thought:
Why would you want to cancel the MD effect? If you think that your ToTT target may overaggro, then why are you buffing his damage in the first place?

Not to mention I haven't seen good rets having aggro problems, like, ever, with their 30% threat reduction talent, hand of salv and all.

This should work (warning: dry-code):
/run i=1,40 do local n,_,_,_,_,_,_,c=UnitAura("player",i) if n=="Tricks of the Trade" and c=="player" then CancelUnitBuff("player",i) break end end
That should only cancel buffs named "Tricks of the Trade" that were applied by you. In theory, the damage buff from the other rogue should have been applied by him, and thus the above macro will only ever catch the threat portion (and the initial buff before it's actually activated. ie. The buff you have between when you cast the spell and actually hit something).

I just went and tested this with a friend's rogue in conjunction with my own. The target of your Tricks does indeed gain their own icon they can click off (what I
forgot to
didn't test was whether or not you gained two icons when you're both trading tricks).
Of course if you're tricking one another the MD aura doesn't matter since your threat is going off into the abyss. If you're tricking a non-rogue and worried about making them overaggro just use the /cancelaura command normally and they'll retain the damage boosted without the threat.

I can confirm that you do indeed get two icons because it's how I watch for other rogues tricksing me.
I run dotimer, and tricks shows up in 2 places: self buffs, and buffs on target. When I cast it, I see a buff show up on the group corresponding to my target as well as one in my own buffs group. When someone casts it on me, I see one in my buffs group. When we both do it i see 3 buffs (one in his group, two in mine).
