/run print('Hello, '..UnitName'player'..', welcome to '..addon_name..'.')
GUID is the
g

u

id
entifier for a unit, not the name. It returns a series of bytes in string form representing the unit's persistent unique ID server-wide. And it's 'print', not 'Print'.
Just to make this less confusing:
/run print("hello, " .. UnitName("player") .. "welcome to" .. addon_name .. ".")
While this is exactly the same as router54's it shows that UnitName'player' is actually a function call :P
