When you wield deadly poison on any of your weapons, instant outperforms wound in all cases.

Oh ok. Well, in that case, no, wound poison -50% healing debuff would be better.
Purging is still GCD used which annoys a lot of healers. Even spells like Abolish poison has a 3sec inbetween tics.
With crippling/mind numbing there is also a chance that they will purge the wrong poison.

a few things i found deeply disturbing about this post
Ive gone 44/21/6 mainly for three's. in no aspect of the game would a spec with a talent point distribution close to that be viable, much less in 3's
I have Blade flurry and i use SnD.. My dps peaks to 5k on dummy compared to 3.2 with regular mutilate build.. popping your CDs on a target dummy and calling it a day is no way to judge your dps, its why we have magic numbers like yours always popping up
Now that peak is only with instant... wound however is 500+ less. also, when did people start caring about dps in a PvP scenario?
Being that I have imp kick if im on the healer... he will die with my combo purging therefore his heals are useless and most likely wound gets dispellled anywas.. two things
1) no healer with 1/2 a brain will be shut down by a 2 second silence
2) wound most likely gets dispelled? what arenas are you playing in where the off chance it does get dispelled you dont reapply it instantly?
I know that Instant poison does more damage than wound poison. Thats not the question at hand. I am wondering if Instant poison does enough + dps than wound to the point where it is better than having wound with the -50% healing debuff...
go roll a retadin and then after discovering how much more successful they are in arenas, if that is true than we can reasonably infer that an increase in burst, no matter how slight is always better than an MS

Well its 2k worthy because i got both my teams to 2k with it. When you try something unorthodox, you try different specs.
Armory link with your supposed 2k ratings with that awful spec.

U've probably heard this already but I'll say it again: most arenas are not about a dps race, they're about coordination, teamwork and debuffs.
So, weight this in ur calculations: less dmg, 50% healing vs a bit more dmg, full healing.
Also, give it a shot. If you end up liking it, stick with it. :)

My martial arts instructor used to say "Anything you do that makes your enemy react means they must spend time thinking about defense and that means less time thinking about ways to attack you." In my mind, I would go with the wound regardless of DPS because even if it does get cleared, it is just one more thing to think about and one more action that someone is taking to defend themselves instead of killing you. Half a second of time is enough to win in close matches.
Keep in mind, I don't and haven't done Arena and I don't do all that well in BGs but I still think it applies. Make them react and keep the initiative to win.
