Allright, here's the deal. I'm getting my 3rd and 4th piece of Tier 10 tonight, and I was wondering if it is worth it to re-gem completely to haste then. I'm currently still using the "go full AP" setup, because I used to play on a pretty laggy computer so rotations weren't optimal then.
Is the 4pcT10 bonus worth it to go full haste? Or should I stick with the full AP gemming?

The plan is to buy T10 gloves and legs. I have also acces to the 128 hit trinket from triumph badges and the iLvl251 expertise cloak from ICC10

To be perfectly honest, I have found our 4p to be rather lacking since having switched to it. I simmed it out in EnhSim and am finding the actual uptime to be much less than the projected uptime (and reason why it would be a DPS increase) in the simulator. This could be really bad RNG on my end, so I'll still be using it for a full clear of everything next week, but it does have been a little concerned.

The only people who claim simming isn't effective or not useful are the people who don't understand the purposes of simming.
One of the things that simming is terrific for is to determine the "uptime" of a buff, or how much I should see it proc. What I actually said, if you read my last post, is that I'm finding the uptime of 4p bonus to be significantly lower than what it was simmed to be. This could be really poor RNG on my part (it is, after all, a chance to proc) and I need more testing to answer that conclusively.
Lag, tactics, other players (?) don't determine that. So, rant somewhere else about sims.

You get the buff once every 6-7 full stacks on MW on average. The average uptime therefore is likely to be <20%, less on movement fights.

A simple target dummy slapping should answer this conclusively. Since that is pure tank'n'spank it should (given enough samples) exactly reproduce the simulation.
If you still see a huge difference the simulation might be wrong - but since the proc isn't exactly complicated I wouldn't really expect a bug there.
I'm very curious about what you find out ;)
@gondorath:
Sims are awesome. They just have to be used right. You are obviously doing it wrong.
On the other hand it is quite amusing that you link EJ guides in your signature. You do realize that the information in those guides is mostly based on simulations, right?

Allright, I decided to just stick with AP gems, and I've been giving the set a few tries in VoA. It seems to proc pretty often for me, and my AP during it is just, amazing!

It appears after running through all the first six bosses last night in ICC 25 (and another set of 1% wipes on Putricide) that my early conclusions on the 4p were misguided. It is now having the same proc rate as was simulated, or at about 25-30% uptime. I blame basing my earlier thoughts on Putricide wipes (Putricide is an awful fight for Enh) and some other very sketchy data.
As an example, my DPS/buff uptime (10.1k baby!) our Festergut kill for this week:

Gondo, I've said it before and I'll likely say it again...you have almost got to be a troll. Re-read my original post and then your response to it. I was ONLY talking about simming the uptime of the 4p bonus. I said that my findings were that it was proccing less than it "should" and that the things you mentioned (other players, etc) had to impact on THAT. Yes, clearly, other players, lag and the like will effect your DPS numbers as compared to a sim. HOWEVER, I was not even remotely talking about that. I am NOT talking about DPS or AP/haste. I am talking about uptime of our 4p bonus.
Please, instead of knee-jerkingly responding to posts, take time and read them. You'll be better for it in the long-run.

While some of your points about simming are certainly right you seem to underestimate it quite a bit:
It is not hard to include movement in a simulation.
And I don't really see how haste would suffer more from lag (or movement) than AP. Could you please explain the reasons behind that assumption?
