Levelling as a healer...

Seeing as we have the lovely LFD system, I plan to level as a healer until 40, then dual spec either to feral or balance for soloing on the side.
However, resto doesnt seem to gain much useful in low level talents.
Would this be something like the appropriate path for getting talents?
20
30
40
Or would I be better off dipping into Balance first for talents like Genesis, Moonglow and Nature's Splendour?

Looks to me like your 30 and 40 link show the same spec.
I agree that the early talent points in resto give little to a low level. The points in Naturalist are hard to swallow, but I guess there's no real way around it. Just lose it when you feel the HoTs can do the job.
As for going resto and then spec'ing into some DPS later, I'd go the opposite. Go Balance or Feral until 40, then dual to Resto. With caster gear, any spec can heal with no trouble to 40, so you can queue as both healer and DPS.
If you go Balance, you can use the same set for both specs for a long, long while. Although the early Balance levels can be kinda frustrating.
Just a few thoughts. Good luck!

40 build
, sorry.
My main reason for doing it this way is I really, really hate the starting zones.
So, I figure LFD is teh best way to avoid them. Which means, due to the numbers, I'll be healing 90% of the time.
Maybe dipping into balance to get to Celestial Focus might be an idea, then speccing to a pure resto build at 40?

LFD doesn't kick in until lvl 15, so I guess you're stuck with most of Mulgore or all of Teldrassil.
I think you'll do fine with your suggestions (once you do get into the dungeons). No need to fidget. As long as you have the gear, you'll be able to heal just fine. As a boomer, I've been able to heal all 5-man instances in Azeroth and Outland I went to, and this was before BoA items . And you'll pick up OoC and Intensity, making it a lot less frustrating.
Once you get Swiftmend at lvl 40, I'm pretty sure you can drop Naturalist, but I'd use your suggestion at first until I was sure this is the case. After that, you can pretty much aim for what you'll be using at 80.

Sub-40 (ish) you can heal in just about any (or no) spec, as long as you have some gear for it.
But ofcorse, its easier to heal in a resto or balance spec than in a feral.
