Hey Everyone.
I've been playing Destro Since i hit LvL 80 a long time ago.. Recently i made a change for my PvE build to Demo to help my guild out(Raid Buff) and now it looks like i am going to try affliction.
Several PvPer's suggested i switch to Affliction in my 2v2 and 3v3 groups and after looking at Arena Junkies, most of the locks in 2v2 and 3v3 are infact Affliction. Humm..
So here is my Build and Glyphs.
Questions? comments? Suggestions on it!
My questions:
I'm an engineer. So in destro i used some of their enchants.
Hands -
Hand-mounted Pyro Rockets
seem the way to go still.. no?
Feet -
Nitro Boosts
vs.
Tuskarr's Vitality
: The permanent speed increase or Crit + 3 min cooldown speed burst?
Gems - Looking on the arena junkies ive notices they dont use the SP + STAT gems.. they go all out with the high end gems.. Never seen this on any other spec/class.. still suggested?
Thanks for any comments or suggestions.. I havent played Affliction in ages so this should be interesting. i figured id ask a few of these questions on hopes that a few Affliction PvP Locks could answer...
Spanks!

Spec looks to be pretty textbook. Pyro Rocket is still nice. If you intend to do arenas, remember that you can't use nitro boosts' effect in arenas. Gemming in PvP, to be honest, is up to your current stats and your personal preference. So long as you are looking to make sure you are hit and spell pen capped, while having good amounts of SP, Haste, and Resil, you're golden.

He's rather well known, and he gems +sp +stats and does pretty well for himself.
Suppose the only thing worth noting tip wise is that you'd better know how to juke with fears, otherwise having all useful abilities in one school kind of sucks, but I'd assume that you'd already know that (Or at least hope :P). WLD, HLD, and RLS are doing pretty well this season from what I've seen and played. No dispells + MS = win :D

Don't forget Shadowcleave: Affliction Warlock + Shadow Priest + Healer! There is so much synergy between ShPriest and AfLock, Unstable Affliction with Devouring Plague, SW:Pain, Vampiric Touch, is ridiculous damage over time! No MS needed.
And as Bladestriker said, just make sure you're 1)hit capped and 2)have enough penetration. That's most important. Small differences gemming aren't going to be gamebreaking, having a Fear missed or resisted will. Same thing with professions, small differences among them won't make a difference, don't worry too much about it. Just focus on practice, practice, practice!

Thanks for the tips!
Like i said making a switch from Destro to Affliction might be a bit of a pain for me, but its a new challenge and if i hate it, ill just go back to what im good at.
My 2v2 is with a Priest with a H Pally Alt...
3v3 is Myself, Shadow priest, H Pally or resto druid.
Thanks again!

Short answer, as much as you can while making sure you are hit capped and spell penetration capped.
Now i go on some blabbing rant.. can read it if you want.. lol
Its not like Destro where you have the burst, SP and Spell Pen are your must haves.. After that most seem to be gearing for haste but some add Crit too.
Affliction from what i can see (from fighting them, comments and my 1 day playing) is constant DPS and unlike Destruction, you can HEAL. So far in arenas ive managed to stay alive in situations where i thought i was going to be screwed simply from my self heals.
I used the back enchant and sp+spen gems to help me get to the 130 mark
As for in arena.. Ive been *!@#ing around with a rouge in 2v2 as im trying to figure out this new spec. Its kinda fun with this group as we are able to cc like we were born for it and get groups down. Mind you not FAST, but easilly enough where neither of us has died yet in the arena.

I thought I read somewhere prior to 3.3.2 that if you were less than about 3k SP (self buffed) to forget about going affliction, since you wouldn't have enough damage to kill anyone. Is this still the case? Trying to get a handle on a real number to shoot for.
No, that's bull. You can still get wins at 1700 with 2.6kSP unbuffed easily. You might not get glad at the rating, but you certainly can get close to 2k rating with under 3k spellpower, picking up better gear along the way.
