Why arcane for endgame?

Yep, my question is exactly as it sounds like, why are nearly all endgame raiding mages arcane?
I thought blizzard have said that fire is supossed to be identical dps to arcane, still why is there so many more arcane mages than fire mages?
My mage is only level 35 so far, so I have not raided endgame as a mage, I'm saying this from the wowmeteronline.com top dps parses and my experience from my hunter main.
So, what is the reason for this? Is it scaling? Is it easiness of rotation hence less chance to screw it up?
The question just came to my mind while I was playing my mage. Any reasonable post is welcome, :)

Fire has more potential and damage when it comes to fights with adds (with is still 80% of all fights), that dont die quickly (now its definetly less). Arcane has more in-demand Burst damage, so it's generally more useful on things such as Jarraxxus's Portals and volcanos, Twin Pact, Marrowgar's Bone Spikes, Blood Beasts and so on...
On the other side. If you raid with no affliction warlock, and you have a ret paladin and you have a nice amount of casters in the raid, the raid dps will increase more by providing Scorch for the raid that whatever hundred dps difference you'll do with arcane. Because personal dps matters far less than raid dps.
On the turn side, if you dont have a ret paladin or bm hunter either, then Arcane giving +3% damage to the whole raid is more important than +5% spell crit.
Yes, there are guilds out there can runs 25man without a single 'lock in their raid because the recruitement on that side has been going horrible :P
