Paladin healing boils down to this:
Bacon tank and heal other people.
FoL for mana conservation and HL for HPS and HS for mobility

I did that around lvl 70, What i did was looked up a spec under the stickies that told me a good spec for lvling (I believe i owe credit to Pezz) and then i bought a bunch of gear (cloth, leather, mail, and plate mix) with intellect on it and MP5 with some crit. Avoid gear with spirit as it does little for you and stam doesn't benifit you much, i grabed gear with pure intellect on it, over very close.
Next I downloaded Visual heal, Healbot, and a few other addons to help me heal and experimented with them. I then learned that Beacon heals only the person i put it on, not those around the person (stupid me) and after learning that i became fairly good at healing.

I seriously recommend getting a raid frame addon like Grid/Clique or Healbot and put it over/under your castbar. The center of the screen. Somewhere where you can still see where your character is standing. The standard party layout is stressful to use, tends to strain your eyes, and makes estimating a decent heal for the situation very difficult. Also make sure to look for an option that makes it so your character is shown with the party. I hate seeing healers forget about their healthbar. :[
When you're questing, aim for items with Spell Power and Intellect on them. Settle for cloth gear if you have to.
