I'm just curious. If you come across a noob through LFD gemming the wrong gems, wearing the wrong gear, not doing enough DPS. etc. why does your limbic forebrain light up and start berating the other player? Do you get angry at people who put salt in their pasta water even though it'll barely raise the boiling point? What about people who pray before their meals? Or people that drink vitamin water?
Sounds like you just vote kicked after not doing enough DPS.
Does it? Why? Do you vote kick people for not doing enough DPS? Cause I haven't seen someone been votekicked for that. But I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. There was some guy who @#$%^ed and moaned about my sub 2k DPS even though I was sub 4k GS (he was 5500+)
We (and I mean H Random groupies) have kicked people for lack of DPS.
More than once. When a <insert random DPS here> does 1100 DPS in HoS (one example), they get kicked. Random Heroics are not about carrying lacking DPS.

If they aren't even trying... ie tagging along... watching tv for half the instance... then casting a shadow bolt when it's on commercial break... that is different. I'm talking about people who are genuinely playing the game... and just want to have fun .. dont kick them because you want to finish 5 minutes faster.
While I admit that there is quite a bit of elitism in the game, there
are
some base requirements for some instances. As a healer, I would not want someone doing less than 1k DPS in something like Halls of Reflection. I'm geared for T9 content and that place is still rather difficult to heal through, even on regular, and if someone is doing too little DPS, it makes it much more difficult for me to keep mana and keep the group alive.
Coming from a tabletop gaming perspective, I originally created characters very strictly on their character concept, down to having characters with absolutely no combat ability. I enjoyed playing them - but they almost always died the moment the midden hit the windmill. Now I create characters who are still fun to play, but who are more likely to survive encounters. It's the same with WoW.
