Holy Pally Professions Question

Hello Wowhead Pally Forums,
I've got an up and coming Holy Pally. I've been pondering professions. Right now, I've got Alchemy and Herbalism. I AM going to keep Alchemy, but I was thinking of another profession for the toon. I was thinking of doing a profession I don't have on other toons, so Leatherworking, Jewelcrafting, Engineering, and Enchanting are out. Should I stick with Herbalism/Alchemy, or should I pick up Tailoring, or Blacksmithing?

For min/maxing out of the choices you've listed, blacksmithing is going to be best, hands down. Do what you feel like, though. My holy paladin's got something like 64/150 mining and no second profession and I've never felt professions have made the difference between a wipe and a kill.

I've got a toon that can gather herbs. Likewise I've got a toon that can mine. And Trust me, I have the cloth to level tailoring. Pezz, you're saying Blacksmithing, do the 2 additional sockets really have that much over the cloak weaving?

If you're dropping herbalism for another profession, you're not going to want to keep alchemy.
I have alchemy without herbalism and I am not going to drop it unless they drasticaly change the profession. Its not about money, its about Mixology, which is far better that the few points of Int I could get out of JWC instead.

I know this is late, but yeah.
This
is what you'd want to use. The comments tell me it's 33 mp5.
Two 20 int gems gives 40 int x 1.1 x 1.1. That's 48.4 int, which gives 726 mana. That's 90.75 mana per minute if you use DP once every two minutes. That comes out to 7.5625 mp5, I believe. Replenishment gives another 7.26 mp5. 726 mana also gives an additional 29.04 mana return on every SoW proc. Assuming one proc every ten seconds that's another 14.52 mp5. Altogether we have about 29 mp5 now. Increasing your mana pool by 726 is essentially worth 6.72 mp5 over a nine minute fight, and obviously less on longer fights, more on shorter ones.
You also get about a third of a point of crit, and a little less than 10 spellpower.
TL;DR: The exact amount of mp5 is going to come out roughly the same, but there's some crit and spellpower.
I don't know what I was thinking with that first number for DP.

Ah yeah, I forgot to factor in the non-tailoring enchants.

As I said in my first post, you don't have to min-max professions to raid, my only point was that if you choose to do so (and money no object) then out of the three choices Sincerity listed BS is the clear winner.

Well, as you all said it could get costly, however, I have 2 miners, and 1 herbalist, so, if it gets bad, I should be able to just handle it myself. :)

Use your Alchemy spec if you want to make money using Alchemy. Hell. Lie about it. Link someone else's "Elixir Spec" and just make them pay extra for the "procs" they might get. A 5x proc from an epic gem transmute is so spectacular. It's about money. It's also about baddies not realizing the profit margin Alchemy can have even without procs. If you're in a price war, you can still net some profit by selling lower than the material cost from the procs you should be getting, just to drive competitors out for a short bit while you bring the market high again.
Blacksmithing is a very simple profession. I don't recommend maxing it. The profession bonus comes in at 400, and you can craft Eternal Belt Buckles at 425. Those are honestly the most reliable sellers. Anything else has such a small chance of being bought that it's depressing. :[
For the purposes of Min/Max raiding, I'd say having a profession bonus is important. Same with epic gems socketed in your gear, or using epic enchantments.
