Hey I tried to help you out with this but your link does not work and I cannot find you on wowarmory.
I personally gemmed with crit as top priority, and I have close to 30 percent unbuffed crit. I'm very pleased with it. Then I focused on intell and SP equally. I was not displeased with this build.
Warmest,
Holyrider

he 2 mp5 gems I have are worth it. I don't have mana problems for the first bosses of ICC 10, but today we starting running the second wind and the 2 dogs really tested my mana.
obviously there not good because it tested your mana.
NEVER
gem for mp5. ever. never. ever. ever. never. ever. ever. never...ever. its bad. Replace those with sp+Int. The crit you get from your SP + Crit gems is minimal. You can also swap those out for Sp + Int.
Your trinkets are woeful for ICC. Do some research. Eye of the broodmother is still bis as far as i know. And another trinket you get from the new heroics is also amazing for discipline.
You have 3 pieces with no spirit, that is your problem.
wtf are you on about?

wtf are you on about?Wtf I'm on about is that two of those pieces have hit rating which could've been replaced by spirit which would've boosted regen. Don't come here and say OMGWTF spirit is useless. Mindless kid, maybe actually check his gear before starting swearing.
Talk about anger issues. Spirit regen is useless for discipline. You might want to check mechanics before you post a useless one liner like you did my friend.
To the OP,
You gain your regen from intellect. You will get the most gains from Intellect as regen comes from rapture, replenishment and other, castable abilities.
The gains you get from a hybrid gem with crit on is minimal. It really won't do much for your throughput at all im afraid. That said, you won't loose all your crit by switching those gems to SP+Int since Int gives you crit also.
Hope that clears up my really vague post ( i was pretty out of it last night! )

I've tried this arguement before. Kiyomii is convinced that spirit is sufficiently important to be on every piece of gear and gem for discipline.
Small amounts on gear are important, it does make a noticeable difference to your regen at extremes, but it's nowhere near as important as our MV-esque friend thinks.

no.
Red - Straight Spell Power
Yellow - Spell power + Intellect
Blue - Anything you want. Preferably any of the above. If your having mana problems, i recommend SPell Power + Int for now. You will need one blue/hybrid gem however. I would go for the

Hey, don't compare him to me. We might be equally hard to convince but I don't start insulting people.
About the stat issue (let's try logic instead of insults for a change, I know this is kind of unusual in this forum but I prefer it this way):
Gear of a given ilvl always comes with roughly the same sta / int and a fixed spellpower. Then it has any two of either spirit, crit, haste, mp5 or hit. A socket will just lower the base stats it has a bit so we can ignore those for now.
You will never (at least I don't know any exceptions, please correct me if I'm wrong) find gear with more than 2 of those optional stats in current content.
I think we can all agree that both hit and mp5 are not desirable for Priests which leaves us with haste, crit and spirit as options.
Kiyomii is certainly right, spirit is an good stat that will help with mana regen but I think what he fails to take into account is the fact that if you get a piece with spirit on it you will inevitably miss out on possible haste or crit. It's not that spirit is bad because it is not. It's just that you will miss out on something else if you get it.
I think we can also agree that a disc Priest rarely ever would want to trade haste or crit for spirit.
The only conclusion can be to rank gear without spirit (which then will have crit and haste) higher than gear with spirit (which then can only have either haste or crit, not both).

Wow mate, talk about lots of crap information here. I've never said gemming for spirit is good, could you please copy and paste if I said that? I did not say that getting spirit on on every piece is vital, but it is certainly a good thing to have. Here again, you have a point regarding the hit, but then again, getting the correct pieces of gear and check available gear pieces which could've been better is a part of raiding and PvE in general. That's the challenge you are facing.
Yes, its a good thing to have, in moderation. In extreme moderation.
Which has been said several times, with examples as to why (mana regen through mana-pool based effects far outstripping "passive" regen. Yet you insist disc priests prioritise gear with spirit, which, although an important stat to have a small amount of on gear, scales horrifically badly outside of the quantities found on tier gear in comparison to intellect.
Your comments regarding the two pieces of gear with hit smacks of lack of deep consideration as well. You will note that they are bracers and wand. There are very few good wands and bracers available to disc priests outside of raids that do not require considerable outlays of gold, and while they are less than optimal, they are still "good" pieces of gear.
And now I think I need to go and lie down because I just agreed with something MegaVolt has said.
Next thing I'll be abandonimg my Physics degree for Young Earth Creationsim.

Part.
Spirit for regen IC is very bad for a discipline priest. You don't ideally want any of it because it will hinder your crit and haste. So right on the ilvl part, wrong on the regen part.
