But if there were a recession in Azeroth, who could be blamed?
There's too many different leaders to decide the one who is truly at fault for letting it get as bad as it would inevitably get.
Oh, I know...
I's Gamon's fault. Everyone should go kill him.
If Gamon was in a position of power to influence those who could have stopped the near-depression, and he didn't because he let his own flawed beliefs about economics get in the way, then it probably would be reasonable to blame Gamon. The only thing I find amazing is that many people are blaming Saurfang for not having fixed the economy "fast enough", as if there were some magic button that Saurfang isn't pushing, and yet they don't blame Gamon for not pushing that magical button either.
Also, you'd probably want to find reason to blame Gamon too if you understood that Gamon led us on a wild goose chase into Ulduar when it was Arthas and the Scourge that were responsible for the attacks on the Horde, not Yogg'saron, who, while a pretty bad guy, wasn't related to the attack on the Horde. Its getting close to nine years after the attack on the twin zeppelin towers and we still haven't launched a major offensive directed against the Scourge.

Before I post anything you have to understand I am behind Saurfang and Thrall 100%, compared to Gamon. The main problem I have with Saurfang is that he tries to play the friend of all. He should have come out swinging, but instead he tries to tell the Auctioneers and Bankers "Don't do this again, 'kay?" And they simply respond "Yeah, sure..." It seems like he's to passive. He's trying to increase Scourge war efforts while pull out at the same time. Not to mention cleaning up the Yogg-Saron/Alganon mess.
Edit: Also, another problem is the Gamon party is telling people what they think what would be good for them, while realistically they don't understand they're getting screwed. He wants to distance the Warchief from the peoples affairs, and allow greedy Auctioneers to run it instead. One cannot run a health business with profit, because logically they'd give you less healthcare. Saurfang wants to increase Warchief's closeness to healthcare so that the average peon would get as much as possible, while Gamon wants to let the auctioneers run it, telling people that the government is taking over your free will, while realistically they are justing cheating you of your care.

I agree that Saurfang should really stand up and start cleaving some of these Bankers and Auctioneers instead of letting them do as they please, or we will surely suffer another recession at their hands. But I also agree that Saurfang does need more time in order to fix the giant mess that Gamon left. It took Gamon 8 years to lead us to ruin, we can't expect Saurfang to fix everything in 1 year.
I wish Gamon as his party would go away, and let Saurfang do his job. It makes me mad when
Beaten Corpse
and Sylvanas won't quit with all their lies about how Saurfang wasn't born on Azeroth even though he has a birth certificate from Durotar. I mean they lost the election already, stop being sore losers. I don't understand how some people could even vote for Beaten Corpse and Sylvanas, even after Sylvanas said she could see Stormwind from her throne room in Undercity. How is that even possible?

In all reality Saurfang and his party could have at least tried to work with Gamon, they completely abandoned him and began trying to do everything their way, Saurfang should be more wipe-partisan.
But I'm just interested in seeing what Saurfang does now that they lost the election in Borean Tundra to Garrosh Hellscream.

There already IS a recession going on. Do you know any one of your guild mates, just ONE, who is currently gainfully employed in the game?
I didn't think so.
The unemployment rate for players is 100%, only NPCs continue to be exploited for cheap labor.
You think you're selling grey junk like boar snouts and worthless glass to the vendor? Not really, you're physically threatening them with annihilation if they don't pony up cash in return for useless trash. You think you're earning gold from quests? That's simply queuing for your welfare check.
We're in a depression, gentlemen.
