We are also aware of the possibility that this change will make healing in PvP too difficult to counter.
As we have mentioned previously, one of the goals for Cataclysm is to have a PvP environment where it is harder to regularly achieve so much damage and healing in relatively few global cooldowns compared to what we currently have in the game.
So in other words, equally geared healers will be impossible to kill when they make these changes. They will be healing for the same amount they currently are (Pretty incredible already) and then decreasing total damage damage taken by another 10-20% and decreasing chance to be crit even farther.

The critical strike chance and critical strike damage reduction components of resilience will remain unaffected by this change.
If you decrease over all damage, doesn't that affect crit damage too? The damage from crit is reduced farther by another multiplier on top of the static reduction, I believe.

Rogues are already doing lame as hell damage on plate, and now with low envenom crits it's getting better huh? Buff rogue damage in PvP, it's too low compared to for example feral druids, hunters, warriors, most other classes rly. Hell, I'm having an easier time nuking healers on my shadowpriest which is worse geared. Thank you for my wonderful brain saving all my armor pen gear from toc25. Seems like PvP gear is no longer needed for me if I want to do damage.
Better take that back before Iteken calls you a baddie too :P
At least Blizz sees the issue with the jerks that go tank-spec in PvP, even if they aren't exactly doing anything.
I thought I read somewhere that they are going to nerf prot damage, but increase threat for prot abilities, not allowing prot to be so powerful and still be viable in PvE areas.
I didnt read anything about prot damage, but, blizz has stated a prot warrior has too much viability in PvP atm. Survabilty, damage output and an enormous amount of utility. I think they are trying to find ways to nerf some of the utility of prot warriors.
As for prot pallies, their utility and survability has been nerfed to the ground already and it affects PvE. I dont want to see it happen anymore to them, or their days of MTing are over. Prot warriors still have the ability to use CDs at the same time or chain them, prot pallies cannot. No more lay on hands, bubble or divine protection back to back, which IS affecting my PvE experience. Maybe warriors need that, no more Last Stand and Shield Wall within 2 mins of each other.
