Ok so here's some logs I've parsed lately. My lock is stuck in 10-man land, rarely using anything besides CoE, and being one of two casters (at least I get FM most of the time).
This was last night's Marrowgar kill as demon spec. I'm pretty satisfied with it, but I'd relish some Asakawa and company feedback on anything that strikes them as odd...again, pretty much no raid support on this, and had to be in my 17% hit gear which includes some pretty low gear. ><
There was some questions earlier raised about the viability between Demon and Affliction, and I thought this was pretty telling. I switch to Affliction because we were not beating the enrage timer on Saurfang in our first two attempts, so I knew that my Affliction spec could keep better DPS on Saurfang while I killed the beasts, and with two hunters, beast DPS was less of a problem.
Fail attempt, around 4700 DPS as Demon.Success attempt, around 4700 DPS as Affliction.Feel free to critique the rest of the log but there's nothing that I think that I need critiqued. If something glares at you though feel free.
Thanks!

Very nice, but not a good comparison because of make-up. You only did 199k damage to the bloodbeasts overall because you had lots of support, I had to be one of the main damage dealers on them which kept me off the boss longer. If I could stay on Saurfang, I'm convinced I would be up around 7k.

One thing I noted is that you utilise a full rotation on blood beasts, whereas I simply use shadow bolts on them - our tactic involves controlling one beast (with a paladin stun in this case) while killing the other which allows me to continue a full rotation on saurfang at all times just with the filler occasionally being a non-debuffed blood beast almost creating a patchwerk-esque scenario.
Here's a link to my debuff statistics on saurfang:

Adapting your tactics or trying to help your raid members increase their dps is probably the method with which you'll see the biggest gain in personal damage
I did adapt my tactics...because we had 1 hunter (until the resto druid went boomkin) and me on the beasts..so he was staying alive long enough for me to DoT up unfortunately other wise I would just hit him with 2 SB and be done.
But basically you did just prove my point. Your numbers are better because your role in the raid was better. Hopefully we get our roster figured out soon so I can be utilized better for my strengths (though I won't be affliction, I'll be demon).
We are still trying to lock down the roster for this 10-man now that we have our 25-man figured out (we dont' focus on the 10-man stuff until later). The point I'm making is we aren't gunning for progression on the 10-man so they tend to be less pretty when being reviewed.
