Well, most people have played with a hunter, so it might be hard. Make sure you have a ferocity pet (The opponent almost never goes to kill the pet first.) and that you have a pretty good melee. In the beginning, you may be able to get some Serpent stings/ Arcane shots off, but if the enemy is meleeing, (Which they probably will be; Hunters aren't specc'd for melee), lay down a freezing trap, get situated, and then hit them with a concussive shot so you can get more Ranged Dps off before switching to melee. Make sure taht if you're meleeing that you spam Raptor strike and Mongoose Bite as much as possible, the extra DPS will be good. And if you can, lay down a Fire trap, and if you're high level enough, snake trap. The enemy might back off to get a heal off, so take this chance to take an aimed shot (If you're MM specc) and maybe an arcane shot/Serpent sting. If your pet can enrage, or use Bestial Wrath, use it to up your pet's DPS. If you're using aspect of the Hawk/DragonHawk, turn it off and switch to Monkey/Beast. You'll need the melee AP and the dodge more than you need ranged AP. Try to hit them with anotherconcussive shot, and arcane shot or a Kill shot if tey're low enough. If you follow these directions, you'll probably win.
In short, MOAR PEW PEW.

The simple fact is this - stay away, and interrupt the big heals.
How you do that is what makes a good Hunter. You have your traps, you have disengage, you have your slows (concussive shot and wing clip), you have your very steady damage irrelevant of spec. Keep aimed shot up for debuffs, use your spec - survival dont stop moving, BM overpower them with BIG RED MODEZ! and MM overpower with hard hits and good CC.
Phew.
Well said. Also about SV, IMO it has the best forms of CC. Entrapment effecting2 of our traps. Snake and Frost. Scatter shot, WS, and i took up CA for those melee classes. Along with BA and ES you can drop alot of dmg in a short time.
Another thing, Viper Sting. All the classes you named use mana, and Viper Sting will help out alot. Yes each class can regen that mana lost, but a well timed VS can make a difference.
If MM is your style of play, than AS up at all times is good, again as 2/3 of the classes named can heal. Disengage is a MM best defense IMO. But you need to know when to use it. Mages and pallys will make you pay if you dont. wait for the Hammer/Frost Nova, than use it.
As for BM... Find the
biggest, nastiest, beasty
, and *!@# it off lol. BW+BwI= POWER! lol
Your pet of choice matters too. With mages and pallies, a spider, hyena, and others with slowing abilities are nice. Bats work very well for this reason. They stun and cancel. Theres so many beasts out there. Find one that fits your style of gameplay and it all falls into place
