So I want to hear the word on the street from my fellow warrior bro's. How does protection specc fare in PvP?
I am a PvE tank who is more or less tired of PvE since all i do when i log is HC's. Im not a seasoned raider and i probably wont raid with the rate im going at, so it kind of struck me to try out PvP. Dont got much experience from before but im doing much better in protection than in my arms off specc. Every time i get challenged by an opposing player in contested zones, i always get raped. So i find my corpse rezzm put on the good old tank gear and i suddenly find myself PWNING the damn bastard. All these stuns, spell reflect heck I even got charge now.
Am i just dreaming? Is it that my DPS gear sucks in comparison, is it that i play protection much better than i play arms? or is it simply because protection is a very viable PvP specc?
Dont bother to post any armory link, just want to know how more experienced player have to say about it :)

Prot is a very utility based spec. You won't do amazing damage but you will hound the person your targeting until the DPS back you up etc. You have a lot of survivability. You are pretty much the ultimate annoyance.

By extension, it's fairly decent for Arena. Two Prot Warriors in 2v2 would have phenomenal burst and control.
Of course, if you bring a healer in, a decent Arena player will know to ignore you and focus on the healer.
My primary Prot BG experience is as a Paladin, but I presume playing a Warrior would be quite similar. It's great for flag carrying, and simply holding up flag points and, as karlus put it, being an annoyance. A single Prot can generally stop a party from taking a flag for the time it takes reinforcements to come.
