I wrote this for my guild website, and thought hey, with all the help I've gotten from Wowhead, why not give back? So here it is.
TALENTS
Respec often. Look down the talent tree, it's pretty clear what will increase your damage potential, and what will reduce your downtime, just by reading the tooltip (after all, that's what it's there for). If you notice it's going to be 10 levels before you can get a serious increase to damage, put those points in the affliction tree. Really, i'd recommend leaving 3 points in suppression no matter what, that 3% chance to hit really does make a lot of difference and save you a lot of frustration. After that, it's up to you, but Improved Drain Soul and Improved Life Tap will really help to reduce your downtime by quite a bit. Drain Soul is a nice finisher anyway, being a long channel you don't really have to worry about it running out before something dies, if you've DoT'ed it correctly. Rambling. Anyway, if you see it's awhile before you can get a damage boost (like between Shadowburn and Backlash, both nice while you're levelling) then "save up" the talent points in the affliction tree until you've got as many as you need. Then just respec. Yeah, it gets a little pricey, but worth it for the time you save, in my opinion. Really, that's about the only advice I've got for levelling specs, mostly it's common sense. Read the tooltips, spec spells that you use often, you'll be good.
STATS
Stam > SP > Crit > Int > Spirit until you get fel armor, then reverse Int and Spirit. I wouldn't be too concerned with hit until you get 80, just keep the suppression talent.
GLYPHS
Glyphs while you're levelling really depend on your playstyle. Again, choose the ones that buff the spells you use most. Like corruption? Glyph it. Like your Voidwalker? Glyph it. You get it.
PETS
Voidwalker - VW is great for soloing those pesky elites... as long as you don't out-threat him. Best way to make sure that you don't is to stick with your DoT's, give him a healthfunnel in between refreshes. The VW is my favorite pet to use for PvP. NEVER forget sacrifice. Instant cast damage shield that isn't on your global cooldown, that is castable while you're stunned, and that has a pretty decent duration? Sweet.
Imp - Strictly a damage pet, the Imp doesn't have much utility, but will greatly boost a properly specced destrolock's DPS, especially at higher levels. At lower levels though, might want to skip this guy in favor of the VW or the Felpup.
Felhunter - Fantastic anti-caster pet. Silence, Dispel, Self healing, and pretty decent DPS. Can't really argue with that! Just don't forget his devour magic ability. I don't keep mine on autocast, because I don't want him to waste it on an enemy, only to wind up polymorphed or scared.
Succubus - I hate her. Only good things about her are that she has a decent CC against humanoids (seduce) and that she slaps her own behind.
Infernal - This is probably one of the easiest pets to forget about, seeing as it costs a reagent, only lasts 2 minutes, and has a 30 minute cooldown, but let me tell you, he's a hell of a guy. That's a joke, because he's a demon, see. Really though, the Infernal seems in my experience to generate better threat than the VW (although sometimes I miss the taunt) and will do WAY more DPS than any of your other pets.
The best thing I can tell you about that monster is to always remember him when you get in trouble. If you accidentally fear-pull 8 or 9 mobs, this guy can save your heiny, let me tell you. Not to mention he's nice on those group quests that you can't find friends for.
PvP
Here is where a destrolock really shines. With intense burst damage, decent CC, and typically a high stamina, as well as the abilities of your pets, you're a force to be reckoned with. The easiest thing to forget about in PvP is your pet's abilities. Felhunters are great against any casting class, since they have both a dispel ability and a silence ability. Succubus can earn her keep in PvP with her seduce ability, and her decent DPS. VW is often overlooked, but with the sacrifice bubble which effectively gives you extra hitpoints, and the Torment ability which lowers an enemy's attack rate, they can be your best friend in battlegrounds or arenas. The easiest ability to forget about though, and one of the most useful (at least against those pesky rogues and druids) is consume shadows. Increasing stealth detection? Perfect. Find that rogue, get a curse or a corruption on him, he'll have trouble disappearing before you can CC him or waste him. I always use this when approaching apparently undefended flags, or whenever I hear that stealth noise... you know the one.

The effort is there, but there's a lot I don't agree with from my time leveling. Also, there's already a very respected (and more informative) leveling guide here on the forum.
