(( Page 11... What? Expecting something more? ))
-
Two days have passed
, Nilon wrote,
since the Scourge last attacked. Tirion Fordring has led the Crusade in clearing the Scourge from the Valley of Echoes, and the Ebon Blade has taken up the main assault of Scourgeholme
. Nilon sighed and shook his head.
I still don't trust them
.
- The paladin closed his journal. Being chased around the frozen continent had given him no time whatsoever to add anything to it. But, now, in the relative safety of the Argent Vanguard, he had time to once again write down his thoughts, and reflect on his past ones.
- The Scourge would pay. Morec would regret
ever
crossing his path.
- "Sir Nilon Lighteye," a crusader's voice came from the outside, sounding impatient. "Highlord Fordring requests your presence."
- He'd almost forgotten. The Highlord had asked that Nilon meet with him for some reason - he'd been vague on the details. With a strange sense of déjà vu, Nilon had agreed. "Very well," Nilon said, stepping out of his tent. "Lead the way."
- The Crusader led the way through the camp and up to where Nilon had first met Tirion Fordring. Besides the Argent Highlord there were two other figures; the rogue Slayer and a high elf death knight.
- "Sir Nilon, good that you finally join us," Tirion said. "We were just discussing the next set of plans about how to deal with the Scourge."
- "Had I been informed this was a meeting on such a topic, I would have been her earlier," Nilon replied, slightly agitated that the Highlord had not seen it fitting that he know the topic of a meeting to which he was invited.
- "We just learned of it ourselves, Horde," Slayer spat, "show some respect for the Highlord."
- Nilon cringed. "Don't call me that." He'd learned what the female meant, that his people had joined the Horde alongside the orcs and their allies. Although he recognized that there were some honorable orcs, he still viewed Horde society as primitive, and a part of him refused to believe his people had sided with them. The even more unbelievable thing: the Alliance had accepted into its confidence a race that had members of its species in the
Burning Legion. Unthinkable
!
- "Enough, both of you," Tirion said. "Now that you're all here, we can begin the true discussion."
- Nilon blinked.
What
?
"Although the Alliance and Horde have both done a great deal to slow the Scourge," Tirion continued, "the march of the undead juggernaught remains unhindered for the most part. While we enter into lands still held under the complete grip of the Lich King, he builds back his forces in lands we thought conquered."
- He paused for a moment. "That is why I have assembled you here. While the bulk of the Argent Crusade marches against the Scourge, I am assigning you to venture back into lands we thought we had crushed them in, and destroy their newer forces there."
- "Highlord Fordring," Nilon said, still feeling a twinge of annoyance, "I would prefer to continue to be a part of the main attack against the Scourge,
not
part of some... cleanup crew for those who didn't do their job thoroughly."
- Tirion looked at Nilon, his gaze piercing through the blood elf. "Not long ago, you said that you would aid the Argent Crusade in any way you could. As a follower of the Holy Light, I would expect you to have the honor to fulfill that promise."
- The Highlord was a commanding presence, making even Nilon feel the size of a gnome. "Sorry, sir," Nilon said.
- "Good. Now, I'm sure you've already met Slayer," Tirion motioned towards the female. "She and Rey Mikknelson - a knight of the Ebon Blade - will assist you."
- "I'd prefer an ally other then the rogue," Nilon said, "and the high elf-."
- "
Half elf
," Rey said, "my father was human."
- Nilon was shocked, but upon a second look he saw the differences. Rey's features were less sharp then a pure elf’s and his build was slightly larger. "Sorry," Nilon said, "didn't notice."
- "Of course you didn't," Rey said and spat on the ground.
- "Well, since that's settled, you can get underway," Tirion said. "Transportation has been provided for each of you, and an emissary and guide is awaiting your arrival and Moa'ki Harbor, in southern Dragonblight. I believe using a Horde or Alliance base as the staging point at this time is... risky.
- "Good luck." He saluted them.

FIRST! Hooray for a short day of school!
Good page as usual, even if there's not much going on.

Had to point it out....
"I'd prefer an ally other then the
rouge
," Nilon said
Nice page otherwise.

Good page. Epic Battle is coming?
Maybe...
Wow... what a crew of friends :)
Heh, I'd hardly call them friends.
Slayer seems hell-bent on reminding Nilon that his people joined the Horde.
And Rey... well, Rey just seems to have an attitude.

Writer's Commentary:
- There you have it. Chapter 2 will take us to the depths of Azjol-nerub in the little installment I call "The Depths of Azjol-Nerub." Catch, no?
- I suppose you can assume why Tirion says using a Horde or Alliance base is risky. Nilon is a Blood Elf, Rey is a Half Elf who is half human, and Slayer... well, two outa three ain't bad. What could bring about this hatered that even Tirion can't persued the Alliance and Horde to set it aside?
- Well...
you got me
.
- What awaits our heroes of the Light within the forgotten nerubian empire? And what will become of Morec and his crew? We'll see.

You've done a good job with an already established character morec, you've written Tirion well.
Heh, thanks. I was a bit worried that I'd fallen outside of his character a few times. Of course, there's still a lot I have yet to do with him, so there's plenty of oppertunity for me to fail epicly.

Oh, you'd be surprised.
And a Dark Troll, you say? Sounds interesting, you planning on posting it here? Or are you already and I'm simply overlooking it?

XD Ah, I thought it was a chornical about the new troll druids for some reason. Or is it that too? Either way, it's got great potential.

Preview: - As Morec was flying over Malykress - the Vile Hold and home to the Host of Suffering - he saw the death knight initiates battling down below. He urged Umbragos down and then dismounted once the frost wyrm had landed on the ramparts.
- The death knights of the Host were still few in number, and even less in skill. Morec deduced this last part as he watch the initiated battle. Without doubt, this was because of Orbaz's influence.
