Lore-wise, the alliance and the Horde were at an uneasy peace agreement before WotLK (Wrathgate specifically). Sure we had our disagreements over a few zones (like Alterac Valley, or Warsong Gulch)...
Then that jackass Varian Wrynn saw fit to invade the Undercity and start running his mouth. Now it's &*!@in' on... If it's red, it's dead.

I once decided to level my priest flagged from level 1 to 80, on a PvE server. It is amazing how many people are bad at PvP in the lower levels.
I then reached The Hinterlands where I was camped by a level 70 hunter, that failed at tracking a toon 30 levels below him (shadowmeld ftw), for 5-10mins. I log off onto an alt, come back an hour later and he is still at my corpse, now that's taking corpse camping a bit too far :)
Few months later,WotLK is realease and I get to 80. I see this hunter flagged, rip him to shreds a few times then go on my way.
Also saw a player multi-boxing 3 toons in tanaris - he felt he had to gank me. I res, drink and eat then proceed to kill his 3 toons. He then logs on his 4th character and brings a level 70 to try and take me on, I guess the Gadgetzan guards didn't like that.
TLDR; Careful who you gank, payback is a #$%^&.

I kill everything red ^ ^
as stated above, its the cycle of warcraft life, they gank you, you gank em back...
That's why I gank gankers. Leave me alone and I'm not going to touch you. I'll probably even help you. Gank me and you go on the list. I hate being ganked so I don't start it. I finish it. I have no way of know who is behind the toons I'm ganking so how could I know if I'm ganking the alt of the main who ganked me? That's why I don't pass the cycle on to those who have done nothing to me.
The thrill I get from ganking a ganker 3 times in 2 minutes and causing them to log off is amazing. Perhaps they will leave my mates alone next time. If I kill someone who hasn't done anything to deserve it, I feel awful. I did once and afterward swore I wouldn't do it again. Turns out I prefer payback to dishing it out in the first place.
I'm on PVP because my friends are, not because I want some nerd with an epeen issue to gank me every chance he gets. If I wanted to do PVP, I'd be on a team.
Ganking lowbies or someone who is oom and low on health seems to be in very poor spirit to me. It also makes me wonder why the ganker won't take on someone who has a fair chance of fighting back.
I have a list of my gankers. I don't care if it takes a group to get them down but when I find them, the ganking and camping shall commence. I hope they remember ganking me, because that's what started it. Had they left me alone, they wouldn't be on the list.
Having said all that, Ally, please continue to raid Crossroads. Some Horde need to learn why dueling at Crossroads is a bad idea. And I'm all for them being taught.

I attack anything at a level I feel I can handle if I'm on my alt, and on my main I attack everything.
Except paladins.

Quick story: I play on a PvE server, Horde side. Every year during the Midsummer Fire Festival, however, my guild (a ten-manning guild, small group of friends) takes the time while honoring/desecrating fires to raid every alliance town in the old world. Last wednesday, we killed every questgiver, flightmaster, blacksmith, and vendor we could find in all the old world. And ganked anyone who was flagged along the way. It was pretty glorious.
While we were in Darnassas, I decided it was time for me to finish exploring Teladrassil (sp?) so as to get my Explorer title. While the rest of the guild hearthed out, I ran around filling in the blank areas of the map. I wasn't really expecting to gank anyone - who would be flagged in the very startingest of start areas on a PvE server?
Then I rounded the corner into the very first area where new NE toons pop, and no more than fifty yards from where they first entered the game, there was a FLAGGED level TWO. When I told my guild on vent, they told me that I *had* to kill them. I was threatened with being /gkicked if I didn't.
I felt awful - it was very nearly the most dishonourable kill possible. But I did it. And I felt guilty the rest of the night.
TLDR: I ganked a level two once. I'm not proud of that.
Similar story for me. Went to darnassus stole the falme needed the teld falme so i ran through darn. On the road to desecrete the teld flame an idiot 8 starting shooting me with his bow. His (and his 3 other firends who porcedded to attack me) fault. Did I feel bad? I felt good to show those N00bs not to attack random ?'s

As long as everyone makes nice, I don't attack flagged characters. Mostly cause I'm afraid of them coming back on their mains and completely kicking my ass.
Same here (US PvP server). Although it is surprising how many lowbies have attacked me when I'm running through the Barrens to help out a guildie.
I was on my way to RFK one time, on my 64 DK, and got attacked by 5 ppl, levels ranging from 16-18. I think they were getting ready to do WC. I let them pound on me for a few seconds, then shredded them.
Although, if someone gets on their main to come and camp me--in a contested area, if you're in a Horde area, you don't deserve help--I send out an SOS to the guild and my raiding guildies show up =) On my hunter, anyway. On my druid, dk, and other lowbies, I'm pretty much on my own.
I actually made a couple toons on a PvE server, I'm looking forward to seeing if leveling goes any faster with zero world PvP.
And I've heard that PvE servers suck in the battlegrounds...are the Battlegroups all PvE and PvP-only realms?
