10 Day Trial + Scroll of Resurrection?

Quick question:
I have been out of the game for several years (since mid WotLK), and am interested in returning. I intend to have a friend send me a Scroll of Resurrection.
BUT, upon logging into battle.net, I see they have graciously offered me a free 10 day trial of cataclysm. My question is, if I were to accept this 10 day trial, upon its completion, or perhaps even during, would I still be able to accept a Scroll of Resurrection?
The SoR FAQ states:
"To be eligible to receive a Scroll of Resurrection, your friend must have a full (non-Starter Edition) World of Warcraft license that has not been active after March 4th, 2012. Only accounts that have been continually inactive since March 4, 2012 are eligible to receive a scroll.
A license is considered active when it has game time, whether that time is a paid subscription or free game time.
"
I suppose what I am really asking is if the 10 day trial counts as game time. I assume so, but just wanted to clarify. Thanks!

I want to say yes, because it says "an account is active when it has game time, even free game time." So, your account will have been active after March 4th, 2012 and therefore ineligible.

Alright, I had assumed as much. One more question:
I remember back in the day, SoR could be used for anyone who was inactive for 3+ months. Is this no longer the case? Is it just simply whoever is inactive since before March 4th is eligible and others are not? Does this (has it) date change?
Seems kind of ridiculous that it only works for people gone for ~year, but maybe its just my loss of perspective since my last time around.

And what you say is true. If you do use a trial then you'll be ineligible for a Scroll of Resurrection. However, should this happen, then customer support can help you out.

No, it's now a fixed date. In order to accept a Scroll of Resurrect your account must have been inactive on or before 4th of March. Whether or not this date will change is something that has not yet been announced. If it does, it will be announced through the official channels. :)

As Gontier has said, any gametime (including trial time) that is on the account since March 2012 will invalidate the Scroll. Although our Customer Support can provide some of the bonuses, we may not be able to offer them all if we manually assist. The reason why is that we're not actually able to flip the switch on making you eligible for the Scroll again, instead we just manually issue out the boost/faction change/transfer as necessary - however, because the link is not technically active, no mount will automatically be sent out. So my advice would be to do one or the other - of course, because the Scroll also comes with a week, you'd probably just want to focus on that.

Sorry to resurrect this topic, but it also applies to my situation as well.
I too had been inactive for quite some time (stopped around mid-Cataclysm, I believe), and I have a similar question, as I would also like to return to Warcraft. A friend has given me a Scroll of Resurrection, and I activated it just yesterday. Since I have not been around for Mists of Pandaria, I also have a trial for it that I can activate.
The Scroll of Resurrection applies a free 7 days... And the Mists trial will be 10 days...
What I am wondering is what would happen if I were to activate the Mists trial now?
Would I have the 7 plus the 10 tacked on at the end (and where would the Mists functionality apply to that)?
Would the Mists 10 day trial instead replace the 7 days completely, and treat it as if I had not been Resurrected (at least regarding the time, not the Scroll benefits)?
I have not yet re-subscribed with payments, but I am hoping to when I am able. I merely want to see if I can maximize my free game time before I can get a subscription once more.

You would not; I believe that either one of those will over right the other one, since they are both meant for an inactive account.

Ah.. thanks for the fast reply.
I suppose then I could wait until my Scroll was up, and -then- activate the Mists trial. If all goes well, I will have 17 days or so in total. Then I can work on fully re-subscribing afterwards.
If not, then it's not too much inconvenience.

Not how it works man. If you take the scroll of res, the Trial becomes null and void and visa versa. You dont get both as once you take 1, your account is no longer inactive.

Yup as Lone said that's how it works; your best bet is to use the SoR, since you get a free level boost with it.

I think my posts may have been a little confusing, and I apologize. What I was hoping did come to pass. After my Scroll of Resurrection ended after 7 days, I then was able to activate my Mists trial and get an additional 10 days.
But I made sure the Scroll was entirely up, and the game time frozen before activating the Mists trial. With the Scroll, I had 7 days of normal non-Mists functionality, and then after that was over and I activated the Mists trial, I of course had Mists functionality for those 10 days.
So I did effectively get the 17 days I was looking for. I just wanted to let people know that it is possible, as long as you don't let any of the time overlap.
I had forgotten that my original question was to see if I could overlap them, and that was answered that I could not.
