Soloed as a 70 Combat Swords Rogue. Had to pot and use all CDs. Not too hard. Be sure to clear the area before engaging - Den Mother has and aoe fear - bellowing roar.

Mob who drops Quest Item wich starts this quest got 29k HP, and objective elite got 31k HP. COmplitely easy for 2 players of any class. But need to clear around some mobs before pull.

Just soloed as Elemental Shaman. Both bosses have the same strat: clear around the area (due to fear/picking up adds), and pull out all your big guns to unload everything you have. Health Stone and/or potions definitely help. The aoe fears can be interrupted (by Earth Shock, at least).

I killed Arvoar using my fire elemental, and killed Barash using my earth elemental...don't think it really mattered, though. I don't know what they do when they turn dark and "run" from you, but that's the perfect time to heal/bandage.

So, this quest is soloable if you come prepared, and would be a piece of cake with 2 people.

When they run away and change color, if you damage them, they will enrage.

Soloed as a balance druid (keep the 3 HoTs on you and keep the 2 DoTs on it, try to avoid to damage it when it run away, because when they enrage, they hurt really bad, use Barkskin in that case). It is stunnable (warstomp), but not rootable.

Both elites fear, but it's not the fear that will get you adds (it's a very short fear), its when they change color and run. They are FAST and can run pretty far. I cleared a big area and still ended up with 2 adds (and died) because the elite ran all over the place.

Very annoying to solo as a warlock since they are immune to fear and dot ticks will set off their enrage. I had to basically just heal pet and shadowbolt in between.

Barash (and I think Arovar should be too) is easily solo'ed as a prot warrior in T4/Karazhan tanking gear, in fact, I did not go below 75% health even with a couple of non elites joining mid fight.

I could bandage when it starts running around, but it wasn't needed, and most of the times impossible because of the dot on me.

Both arvoar and the den mother are soloable for a shadow priest.

As others said clear the area well enough so you are not feared into adds or the mob doesnt run into any either when they run away with their enrage shield on.

Its very hard to avoid damaging it when the mob runs and pops his enrage shield. So I suggest to start a heal as soon as it does this. You will need at least 1 mana pot (I used pvp mana pot). I have about 750 damage, 10k health, 8k mana, and 24% to crit. I died a few times figuring out what the trick to arvoar is, but the den mother took 1 try (since it is exactly the same). So it shouldn't be that much harder for someone with lesser gear.

I think it is worth noting that you must be Netherwing Neutral for the item to drop. This means you must have 300 Flying Skill (Elite Flying) It mentions that in the note for the dropped item that starts the quest, but that's easy to miss (as I did).

This is very easy to solo as a feral druid.

Clear the entire area, and use your tanking gear for Arvoar. With decent tank gear he only hits you for around 150, and 230-ish if he's enraged. Keep Demoralizing Roar up on him and spam Maul + Mangle. It'll take a few minutes but you should kill him without having to heal. (I got a respawn add at around 5%, finish him and then kill the add.)

Rinse and repeat for Den Mother. I also got a respawn add at around 50%, I killed it first before going back to Barash.

Finished both fights with around 45% hp left. 20g + a green that vendors around 3g.

As a fire mage, I've not been able to solo him due to me firing off scorches every 1.5 seconds and ignites flying all over the place

I don't get time to see when he shields himself, so I don't get bandage time and he gets enraged

Me (BM hunter) and a rogue friend did this together, both in half-decent gear. We had no trouble doing it and we even managed to aggro adds and still not die. As said, very easy. We didn't pay attention and held strong during the enrage.

Easily soloed as a 0/21/40 warlock with ~1100 shadow dmg, 18% crit

- Jump up on one of the ledges in the surrounding area,
- Sacc a voidwalker and summon a new one
- Start spamming SB, stop when "stoned"
If a third shield is needed, insta summon a voidwalker and sacc it
Make sure to have your PvP trinket equipped

I finished with about 70% of my hp left on my first attempt, so this should be no problem

In theory the two elite mobs you need to kill for this quest are very easy (both seem virtually identical, save for appearance), with low health, low damage, and no nasty debuffs or special abilities that I noticed. Unfortunately they use a fear effect, which is a big problem when you consider how many other mobs are around this area. You can try clearing them, but the current respawn rate seems to be too high for this to be a viable strategy.
Still, it's a pretty easy fight. Two people can do it with relative ease, and a group of three should have no problems at all. Just be aware that the fear effect can wipe you very easily if you aren't careful - it makes soloable mobs into enemies that require a group.

Overlord Mor'ghor, the start npc, is hostile to me. I am alliance and Scryer. That may or may not matter.

I wanted to do this quest becuase the drake tamer's gloves are very good tanking gloves for a druid.

If Mor'ghor is hostile to you, Fourwinds, then you haven't done those chains and are not yet eligible to accept this quest.

Max is correct about the rep level - you only need neutral; but neutral is not all you need. Once you have made neutral (killing Zuluhed and freeing Karynaku),you must:

1. Have epic flight skill
2. Complete "Ally of the Netherwing" (talk to Mordenai and get sent to the Ledge - at which point Mor'ghor will not be hostile to you).
3. Complete the two-quest chain "In Service of the Illidari" and "Enter the Taskmaster" .

Then you will be able to acquire the quest from the quest-starter drop item (hand).
