At first I was afraid to make this weapon for the fact that the mats are expensive if you choose to buy them off AH and I wasn't sure how long I will have this weapon for, but I am in love with it.

I only used it in three duels though (with a 47 rogue) but it delivers. I wasn't noticing the jump in dps (was doign about 8 dps better than with other weapon) but what I did notice was the weapon proc. In the three duels it procced twice (in the last 2) at about the beginning of the duel. Oddly enough I won both of these duels (and got tossed around on the first).

Decent damage dealt overall for a weapon around this level.

For a rogue, the best thing I've found about this mace is the added survivability when fighting humanoids or warriors/paladins of the opposing faction. The disarm proc of this mace, coupled with the Riposte ability of a combat rogue severely limits the damage taken from any enemy trying to fight you melee with a weapon. Just my 2 cents. I've been happy with it so far, for sure.

I've been playing around with a bunch of different weapons on my 49 twink warrior. Ended up speccing fury and trying this out.

For me, it is by far the most noticeable when dealing with enhancement shaman, which are probably the most painful melee class to fight as a 49 warrior by far. This and a well-timed shift into Defensive Stance for Disarm usually wins me the fight if the shaman doesn't know how to deal with being disarmed (which most don't, as a rule). It has proven to be just about the ONLY way to kill a twink 49 shaman outside of praying to the god of RNG to let you outburst him before he kills you, which is obviously even less reliable.

I understand this is sort of anecdotal evidence, but for me the Disarm on this procs about as much as Crusader/Mongoose does. I have no idea what the actual proc rate is; I could just be lucky, or I could be getting less than some. I don't know anyone else who uses this.

For things that aren't 49 twink enh shaman, this doesn't seem all that great to me. The damage isn't very high compared to the myriad of other weapons available, and the disarm is often redundant in short fights. It's sometimes useful against rogues, but I find they usually kill me as Fury. I don't know if that's because of the spec or directly related to this weapon, but I seem to fare better with Bloodrazor/Thrash Blade/etc. Maybe I'm still learning the spec.

Anyhow, obviously not everyone who levels through the stage where this is a viable weapon are going to have designs on being a 49 twink. If you don't, it really seems lackluster to me. It's only useful on a handful of mobs unless you make a point to grind on melee humanoids, and the damage is lower than other weapons you could get. Again, situationally useful, but I don't think it's worth the exhorbitant mat cost unless you're either filthy rich, or working on a twink and just trying to give yourself every option possible.

As a main-hand this weapon isn't really good for any DPS-specced class/build, as nearly all of them (now even Fury warriors) rely on very slow mainhand (and sometimes offhand) weapons for better damage. However, it's a VERY nice weapon for a tank, although on the slow side for those builds the proc will help with damage mitigation in instances (or AOE grinding as a pally).

As an offhand, it's decent. Enhancement shamans who can't afford Heaven's Light will find this a cheap alternative for a offhand as it's on the slower side of things and hits almost as hard. Although not the optimal speed for a rogue offhand either, it's workable if faster maces like Mug O Hurt aren't available.

I was unsure at first, but this has actually turned out to be a really good weapon for me. The Shatterer is slow, and it doesn't give any stat bonuses, but man, when that proc goes off you can give a good fight to just about anything less than 10 levels higher than you are, including other players.

Add in the warrior's Disarm ability and you really have some serious potential to frustrate the enemy.

In general it seems that for every 3 humanoids near my level that I fight, it will go off about twice. During particularly long fights mine has activated two or even three times against the same individual, but that's somewhat of an exception.

For all these reasons I expect to be using this weapon until at least level 50.

Finally this isn't a cheap weapon to make, but the materials aren't entirely outrageous as long as you farm them yourself.

This is a great weapon to use against rogues. People forget that a number of rogue skills can only be used if a dagger is wielded, but if you have the Shatterer and a shield and get a proc that disarms the rogue, it REALLY annoys them. I always wield this weapon against rogues, and I win about 95% of the time. I'm a 60 shaman.

Also, a warrior is insane to put weapon chain on their weapon. They should use crusader and leave chain weapon to their plate gloves, 2 do it.

I am a 52 troll shaman. Stone Guard of the Horde. Damagewise, I outgrew this weapon a few levels ago. I can buy a weapon with better DPS for just a few gold.

But I can't let this hammer go. In PVP, with flurry and windfury, I disarm very often and it has completely changed the tide of battle for me many times.

I heartily recommend it.

This mace rocks my socks. I play my gnome rogue toon in the 40-49 bracket atm, and during one WSG game, after respecing to CB-riposte (from prep daggers), I had the pleasure of encountering two UD rogues in front of the Horde base. I targeted one, getting him down to 50% and the mace and crippling poison proc, so I switch targets (since the first one is crippled and disarmed) and end up disarming the second rogue! Yes with this weapon, not with riposte. They were both very dead by the end of it.

I've tried riposte with this mace and the disarm proc seems to last as long as the last action. 6 seconds for riposte, 10 sec for the Shatterer. Unlike the Mug O' Hurt proc and crippling poison proc, which cancel each other out, this proc merely overlaps with riposte. It's conceivable to disarm an opponent from start to finish.

Got this at the AH on Kul'Tiras (Alliance) yesterday for a mere 10G buyout. Tested it on some Bloodsail Bucaneers and was happy. Went to the Gurubashi Arena then and had some fun there... I am a 42 Pala and beat a 47 Troll Shaman like a kid (although Holy Shock helped too)!

Ready to do some more PvP'ing with it!

Strange as though it may seem to you, I use the Shatterer as my main-hander, and Hanzo as my offhander. I am a level 60 Dual Wield, full DPS specced Warrior (30 Fury 21 Arms).

I have got a +4 damage enchant on it, which helps raise the weapon's DPS a bit, although not much. I have been using it for about 2 months now, and I have got the following comments to make regarding its use against different opponents in PvP:

a. 2H Wielding Arms Specced Warriors:

Not very useful against these, 2H wielding warriors regularly crit me for about 900-1k (normal crit not OP or HS), and that means I am dead very fast, before the weapon has the chance to proc. If you're wielding the Shatterer, you'd better avoid 2H Arms Warriors.

b. Dual Wielding Warriors, Protection Specced 1H+Shield Warriors and Rogues:

Almost guaranteed proc rate in each and every fight. Due to the very large DW miss chance, fights against Rogues and DW Warriors last longer, therefore giving this weapon a chance to proc. Rogues have got the Precision talent thereby reducing their miss chance (and increasing their DPS), but still the weapon procs against them very often as well.
In fact, I have even disarmed a specific Orc Prot Warrior three times in a row in the same fight. (The fight lasted long because the Prot Specced warrior dealed laughable damage but also received very small damage).

c. Shamans, Druids, Paladins:

Guaranteed proc (disarm) in each and every fight. For some strange reason, I have found Druids to be the most vulnerable to the proc of the Shatterer. It disarms them even when in Bear or Cat Form, and also much more frequently than other classes.

d. Pure Casters (Mages, Locks, Priests)

The same with the Druid applies here. The Shatterer has got to my experience, an extremely high chance to proc against casters, in fact so much so that I almost always disarm casters when attacking them, sometimes from the first or second blow that connects.

e. Hunters.

As a DW'er, I absolutely destroy any and all Hunters anyway, regardless of spec or equipment. For those who love to own Hunters, I have got good news: The Shatterer procs in almost every fight with Hunters too, thus allowing for very funny episodes involving 2H wielding Tauren Hunters, who being as they are disarmed and destroyed from close range, find the best solution to keep jumping around lest they are saved :). Imagine a huge Tauren Hunter with that stupid looking Lion some of them use, disarmed, jumping around in circles while being butchered :).

------------->As a final note, I'd like to add that, contrary to popular belief, it is absolutely amazing exactly how many Warriors go about PvP'ing without the special immune disarm effect gloves that drop at Stratholme. Through constant, every day PvP in the space of two months, I have only found just a single Warrior (a Tauren) who was immune to disarm. All other warriors encountered, were disarm vulnerable.

This is a good weapon for allround use up to lv 48. Bought mine for 6g at AH. Since it only disarms humanoids with melee weapons, i enchanted it with lesser beast slaying. So that it generates pretty good damage on beasts when it cannot disarm. However if you prefer higher damage a good sword or axe are your other options.

Once i hit 42, i grabbed the mats from the AH and crafted this beauty. Not only does it look nice, but it deals decent damage and a Chance on Hit ability to make melee classes cower. The 10 second disarm is huge. U can take down melee classes 10 lvl above u with this because of the disarm.

when i hit 42, im gunna hav my BS friend make me this and dual wield it with excavators brand. No stats but it has double proc =D. just frost shock em to slow em down a bit, and when they're disarmed, jump around like an idiot while the shocks cooldown and add some meeles in-between. ... or at least that's how it should go...

I main-hand this on my 42 Shaman and off-hand Wirt's Third Leg.

Proc rate is around 5-10% and it's really nice when it does proc. Reduces most mobs dps by 50% if they can be disarmed. Have yet to try it out in PvP.

My 70 lock was a miner so all I did was farm the mithril and kill same trash in silithus. Most of the stuff was 50s-1g on the AH. Overall only cost me about 10g to craft.

If you can get this for under 30g you got a bargain. I'm a dual wield mace warrior and this mace lasted me 'til level 49. The disarm rate on The Shatterer is awesome.

As a shaman leveling up with enhancement, I heartily recommend this hammer.

Before we got dual-wield (with release of Outlands), this hammer was not a great choice since you would lose dps for not having a two-hander. But with dual-wield, with the added dps from our off-hand, this hammer is much more worth having! It procs often for me, almost once in every fight.

These plans can be purchased off the weaponsmithing vendor after you choose to go either weaponsmith or armorsmith. For Alliance the trainer is in IF, right by the huge anvil. You can't buy or train this recipe if you are an armorsmith though.

I use this mace with my Shaman and I swear by it.

This thing is a must have for fighting Warriors and Paladins. (And rogues to a lesser extent.)

Ok.

First off this is a nice weapon for PVP, BG and duels.

Secondly, you CAN learn this if you are an armoursmith. You can learn it from the weaponsmith trainers. It requires a skill level of 235.

Thirdly the price of this varies between servers. It should be valued between 15-25g.

Yet again, this is a great weapon for PVP and BG's. I battle with a 45 pala in WSG and he is forever disarming 49 horde warriors who neglect their unarmed skill.

And if anyone on the Aggrammar server on Alliance wants this i can craft it.

This weapon is a good example to show that blacksmithing doesnt pay. On the contrary: this sells for less than the total amount you have to pay/get payed for the ingredients:
24 mithril bar 4g, 4 core of earth 10g, 6 truesilver bar 1g50, 5 citrine 4g50, 5 jade 2g50, 4 thick leather 50s and 4 solid grinding stone 50s makes a total of 23g 50s and no way you are able to sell it for that! It sells for 15g probably, 20 if youre lucky. Man, im never going to be blacksmither again *sighs*. Same holds true for the other ones (Blight, Phantom Blade, Truesilver Champion)

I was wondering if this weapon procs based on your Agility attribute. I made this mace for my rogue friend and he said it procs atleast once or twice per mob. So Rogues who duel weild with a mace I suggest you use it. He loves it!

Hmm hard to say. I started out seriously using this against same-level naga in STV, it seemed to proc about once every fight, skipping one fight now and then... I'd guess it is around 5%. Just so you can't rely on it, but happens pretty often :)

I don't understand why this weapon is so undervalued ...... I'm a BS , I made this and the Phantom Blade , sold both , the Phantim Blade got me 35G , and this got me 20G .

First if all the DPS difference is only 1 , second of all the chance on hit of Phantom blade is to reduce armor by 100 and make invisibility impossible ..... big deal,so if a warrior has 7k armor you make it 6900 ......

The shatterer disarms , which happens 2-3 times per fight depending on how long it is , and when that happens you pretty much win the duel/pvp fight .....

Also core of earth is so much harder to find than Breath of wind , it sells for 3-6 G per piece in AH , whereas the breath of wind sells for 1-2 G , also this requires Citrine and Jade which are rare .....

The only thing I see the phantom blade better at is that it looks cooler , thats it. yet the price is almost double ..... absurd , no wonder a good deal of WoW players are 15 year olds

most likely it's because few roges or warriors train maces. it's always sword or dagger roges while sword warriors for allied and axe warriors for hord. seeing the effect though, I'd say it's better vs meelee attackers than the trash blade or the phantom blade specially during pvp. problem is taking the time and the effort to train up your maces so you can use it. ps, iron chain works wonders vs someone with this weapon or in pvp situations. I swear by the iron chain for my main hand weapon when fighting in battlegrounds. and usially go iron chain main hand and +15 agi for off hand. @#$@ the fiery or crusaider. if you don't have your weapon in hand it'll never proc anyway. specially in higher level battlegrounds.

put this in the ah for over a week on lightnings blade server with bids starting at 5g and buyout as low as 10g it never sold finally i found someone to pay 7g for it through the trade channel. will never make another. made 3 phantom blades that have all sold for between 19g and 25g. i think ill stick to making those for now.

Doesn't appear to have an ICD, even up in WoD, where I used this extensively in PvP. Useful for tanking, and possibly for PvP against any melee not running with a weapon chain or Death Grips/Stronghold Gauntlets.
