As a Rogue this is awesome!

I use it with the set bonus from my Assassination set, and Slice N Dice, it takes a bit of skill to get them all going at the same time, but damn!

My weapon speeds dropped below 1.0 for MH and OH for about 10 sec!

if you are a fury warrior using drakefist hammer only the proc and flurry give you 1.75 speed. activating this trinket and maybe a mongoose proc if you have it on both weapons results in serious damage. activate reck and you will really be a "deathwish"ed warrior. :)

I farmed Mech for weeks to get this on my 2H enhancement shaman. Finally got it after about 30 runs (first time I even saw it drop). Three more weeks until I can get my Gladiator's Bonegrinder, which I should be swinging at somthign like 1.8 seconds with this, Bloodlust, and Flurry. O lawd.

I am so pissed! Just dropped for me after my 30+ run... im 80% into revered and its the first time its dropped! A prot warrior won the roll over me... >_< Is this even remotely good for a prot warrior... or should I roll a horde and gank this guy over and over and over to get rid my pain?

i use this with Slice and Dice for my rogue, made a macro here:

/use Abacus of Violent Odds
/cast Slice and Dice
/stopcasting

trinket itself gives 24.73% haste speed

you get 54.73% faster attacks for 10 seconds with them both active, even faster if you have assassination armor set bonus ;-) (which adds 15.22% haste for 6 seconds)

very nice trinket, will last until i get bloodlust brooch

By the way, there's a soft cap that blizz has on weapon speed, you cannot drop below a 1.0 weapon speed for ANY weapon. Your tooltip may say 0.8 or 0.7 speed, but the faster you can go is 1.0. Thanks for fatmike for that.

i think the reason theres the 1 sec minimum attack speed cap is cuz a troll with low hp and berserker racial buff, 2 assasination set peices, drakefist hammer MH, Blackout Truncheon OH, Dragonspine Trophy, slice and dice and this trinkets use and finally bloodlust (or what its called for draeneis) could get such crazy attack speed if he was lucky to get it all triggered, that only god knows what would happen if there wasnt the 1 sec cap..

When i used a crappy 2,0sword 1-3weeks ago i got it down to 0,7 normaly or something like that, so you can get it lower than 1sec attack speed

if wep. speed cant go below 1.0 then dagger rogues are at a severe disadvantage here... w/ all my speed boosts and everything i can get my tooltip to tell me my OH is at 0.54 speed... the normal speed being 1.5... thats almost a 300% increase in speed and essentialy white dps not to mention Combat Potency procs... now lets say a sword/fist/mace rogue uses the same abilities/pots/trinkets w/ a 3.0 speed weapon... he can get it down to 1.08... just above the "cap" (if there is one...) so the sword/fist/mace rogue would be at a solid ~300% speed increase while the dagger rogue is at a 75% increase to damage... HORRIBLE... the dagger spec is supposed to be the "raid/max dps" spec for rogues... this really throws things outta whack imo... i'd think blizz would realize this w/ the cap and decide against it... until someone can prove that the cap does exist... I just can't believe blizz would nerf dag spec this badly especially w/ the way they're trying to seperate the rogue weapon specs into different parts of the game

topped w/ an Adrenaline Rush you can BS as fast as the global cooldown allows for ~10-12sec... which is really fun when Curator takes 200% dmg...

Also-this would make haste useless for kitty druids because i believe their normal speed is 1.0... not sure on that, though as i dont play druid :P

I assumed that haste effects like this would kill the proc rate on Seal of Command, but I've been reading some people saying that haste does not reduce the proc rate since it's based of normal weapon speed. Can anyone verify?

100% attack speed increase means that you attack twice as fast; 100% more attacks in any given time. Or a reduction of the 'melee cooldown' - the swing timer - by 50%.

Of course, haste exponentially diminishes because the swing timer reduction multiplier is 1/(1+haste%); at 100% haste, the swing timer is halved; at 200% haste, it's divided by 3; at 300% haste, it's divided by four, etc.

I only say this because when one looks at a "100% haste increase," you'd tend to think that you attack infinitely - or nigh-infinitely fast (approaching 1/0 from the right side).

In short, the haste mechanic percent increases are deceiving.

It just occurred to me that this would be really nice for a prot/ret reckoning paladin. As soon as reckoning procs, pop this and you'll be much more likely to get a third double-swing with your 2H. With reckoning being an 8 sec window, and three swings taking over 7 seconds (with two 3.6 sec waits = 7.2 secs), it's easy to miss the third swing if your first double-hit swing comes later than 0.8 secs after the reckoning proc. This speeds your swing to roughly 3.06 with a 3.6 weapon.

As a furry warrior this be one interesting trinket. With both this trinket popped and flurry active, the attack speed of a 2.6 weapon is brought down to about 1.6.

During a warriors recklessness/execute phase, a 1.6 speed weapon increases damage gained from executes done over time by %39 by suppling rage at a rate close to executes global cool down.

This adds an interesting DPS benefit to warriors that use slow/slow for the maximum benefit to whirlwind / flury procing.

(Not to mention the fat amount of AP and the haste proc with regards to white damage.)

Comparing this to Core of Arkelos (easy to get green trinket with 200 AP for 20 sec activatable ability, and 52 AP)

Assuming 1600 unbuffed AP

Abacus of Violent odds:
64 AP/1600 AP=4% damage
260 haste=16.5% damage for 10 secs

Core of Arkelos:
52 AP/1600 AP=3.25% damage
200 AP/1600 AP=12.5% damage for 20 secs

since both are on the same timer, double the damage on arkelos activated ability (since it lasts 2x as long) to make them even=25% damage
25%-16.5%=8.5% damage
8.5% damage/(20/120)(this is the time for the arkelos buff over the cooldown, giving you the total average increase)=1.42% damage.
4% damage-3.25% damage (straight dps on both trinkets)=abacus better by .75% damage
1.42% (the damage diff on the activatables, with arkelos being better)-.75% (damage on straight increase, with abacus being better)=core is .67% better.

save yourself the trouble and get the core, the stacking might be nice, but its just another cool effect, and the AP is better, even if you have 2k unbuffed, its still better by at least .3% (i don't want to go thru the math, AND explain it to you, again)

If you have abilities that benefit insanely from +speed, more power to ya, but if not, the core is better for straight dps.

Core of Arkelos is better than Bladefists breadth, just take my word for it (BB is the other easy to get trinket at 60+) BB=1.something crit (1.2? 1.3?), ark=roughly 2-3% damage (depending on ur unbuffed AP), damage %=crit chance, so even with talent boosting abilities, ark is better.

Reccommended trinkets: hourglass of the unraveller and core of arkelos for pre heroic and kara 70s.
the hourglass is better than ark, see my post on that, and the ark is better than the other trinkets.

Why does everyone get mad when feral druids win stuff that benefits them? Get over it people. There are multiple classes in this game, and if that druid tanked you to the end boss in mechanar, he deserved it as much as you did. I'm rolling on it too if it drops.

This is an amazing trinket, a perfect one to pair with hourglass of the unraveler. Great to use in succession with blade flurry because of their 2 min cooldowns. Hunters keep beating me on the roll though, but I suppose it is also nice for them.

Feral druids should really consider passing on this if you have a hunter/rogue/dps warrior in group. A very small portion of a cat-form druid comes from his white damage. The other classes are much more dependant on white hits. So the haste rating isn't a really needed stat for druids. A trinket with a +attack power proc/use would benefit druids much more. So please consider this before needing on this over people who has been trying to get this for a long time.

Btw I play both a 70 feral druid and a dps warrior, so I'm not saying this just because I want it myself.

260 haste rating = 16.5% speed increase at level 70

as of patch 2.0.7 the speed bonus per point of haste has been increased. this trinket now provides a 24.75% speed increase.

That's a massive amount of haste for me. I get my hammers down so close to a 1 flat hit rate.
That mixed with Windfury is madness.

Can't wait to upgrade to Dragonmaw and get Mongoose (Increase Agility +120 and attack speed slightly) enchant on it.

I have just gotten this in heroic mode. Had Romeo's Poison Vial and Hourglass of the Unraveller, so I took it just to test it out (else it would be dissed) and my dps is quite good togheter with the Unraveller. Thinking about using this instead of the Vial on normal grinding on lower lvl's and the Vial on raids because of the +to hit (my +to hit is quite ok)
Any thought about this?

I'm trying to get this on my Rogue right now, Blinkstrike with a quick off & Hand of Justice. I can see it doing a lot of damage I've gotten my attack speed on BS down to about 1.37 even lower with Troll racial + Mongoose. No idea why people still nay say Blinkstrike.

who's gonna bother stacking haste on a hunter? if you get incredible attack speed for a few seconds then you can't use any abilities except arcane shot...better off just using steady shot you'll probably do similar damage

I am BM with Valestalker Girdle = 2.06 basic attack speed

If all these process:

Thundering skyfire meta diamond = 240 haste rating

Dragonspine Trophy = 325 haste rating

Abacus = 260 haste rating

haste potion = 400 haste rating

Improved Aspect of the hawk = + 15 % attack speed

Rapid Fire = + 40% attack speed

Would be fun to know

Finally dropped after 37 kills of Pathaleon the Calculator. Oddly enough it dropped with the Assassination tunic, which dropped on my very first run.

Always forgetting to manually use the trinkets you have? Try this on for size:
/use Name Of Trinket
/cast Name Of Move
Then swap in this macro's icon to where the attack icon was. An easy combo for any fight and it'll be ready again before you know it. If you want to choose when trinket pops rather than blowing your cooldown at first chance, place macro in 2nd bar at same spot as regular attack and assign Shift/key#.

You can even do multiples ie:
/use Abacus of Violent Odds
/use Crystalforged Trinket
/use Bladefist's Breath
/use Yet Another Choice
/cast Backstab

If a trinket is not ready or equipped, you'll just get "item not ready" and your attack continues like normal.
